Product Description

The MagnaFlow 99206HM is an HM Grade Federal/EPA compliant universal catalytic converter built for professional exhaust shop installation on a broad range of domestic and European applications using 2.50" exhaust pipe. Compared to the 99305HM, the 99206HM is designed for larger-diameter exhaust systems - stepping up from 2.25" to 2.50" pipe - while featuring a shorter, more compact 9" body (13" overall) that can be positioned more easily in tight underbody locations. It is well-suited for applications including larger-displacement V6 and V8 trucks and SUVs as well as European performance vehicles that route 2.50" exhaust tubing through the converter position.

One important distinction of the 99206HM versus other MagnaFlow universal converters: this unit does NOT include an integrated oxygen sensor bung. Installers and buyers must confirm that the vehicle's exhaust system configuration does not require a post-converter O2 sensor port at the converter body itself - if a downstream sensor bung is needed, it must be welded into the exhaust pipe separately during installation. As with all MagnaFlow universal converters, installation requires pipe cutting, fitting, and welding performed by a qualified professional exhaust shop.

Construction follows MagnaFlow's standard HM Grade specification: 16-gauge 409 stainless steel tubing, 308 stainless steel MIG laser fusion welds, ribbed round clam-shell body with a factory-attached aluminized steel heat shield, and a 1/2" lap joint where the necks meet the body to prevent the neck from extending into the converter and restricting exhaust flow.
