Vehicle Fitment

  • 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra (SR, 2WD/4WD)
  • 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra (SR5, 2WD/4WD)
  • 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra (Platinum, 2WD/4WD)

  • 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra (TRD Off-Road, 2WD/4WD)

Fitment Notes

  • Does not fit 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro - the TRD Pro uses a factory FOX shock setup that is incompatible with this application.
  • Sold as a single (1x) rear shock absorber. Two units are required to replace both rear shocks.
  • Compatible with both the i-FORCE 3.5L V6 Twin-Turbo and i-FORCE MAX 3.5L V6 Twin-Turbo Hybrid powertrains.
  • Optional rear lift springs (such as Old Man Emu 1.5 in. lift springs) can be paired with this shock for additional rear lift height beyond the shock's native 0-1 in. range.

Features

  • High-performance 2000 Series monotube rear shock absorber engineered specifically for the 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra third generation (TNGA-F platform).
  • Provides up to 1 inch of rear lift, accommodating larger aftermarket tires and wheels while preserving on-road ride quality.
  • Large 2.7-inch shock body with an enlarged piston and shaft delivers superior damping performance compared to OEM components on- and off-road.
  • Specially hardened 11/16-inch (18 mm) diameter piston rods feature hard chrome plating for exceptional corrosion resistance and long-term structural strength.
  • Heat-treated, corrosion-resistant 6061 aluminum body construction provides a premium combination of lightweight strength and durability.
  • High-performance, long-life damper oil ensures stable, consistent damping across a wide temperature range and varied terrain conditions.
  • Increased wheel travel compared to OEM counterpart for improved absorption of bumps, whoops, and off-road obstacles at the rear axle.
  • Vehicle-specific damping valves are tuned to the Tundra's weight, geometry, and suspension characteristics for optimized performance balance.
  • Tested and tuned in the deserts of Southern California; engineered in Japan using motorsports-proven damping technology.
  • Exceeds OEM rear damping performance, improving body control, towing stability, and overall ride quality under load and off-road conditions.

Product Description

The KYB KP2001 is a 2000 Series high-performance rear shock absorber engineered specifically for the 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra. Developed as the rear complement to the KP2000 front coilover, this monotube shock is purpose-built for owners who want meaningful off-road capability without sacrificing the composure and stability required for daily driving, towing, or highway use. The KP2001 delivers up to 1 inch of additional rear lift over stock, enabling fitment of larger tires and improving ground clearance when combined with the front KP2000 coilover. Engineered in Japan and tuned across Mojave Desert terrain, this shock brings motorsports-proven damping technology directly to one of America's most capable full-size pickup trucks.

The KP2001 features a 2.7-inch shock body, an enlarged 11/16-inch (18 mm) hard chrome-plated piston rod, and a heat-treated 6061 aluminum body - all designed to outperform OEM rear dampers in demanding conditions. Increased wheel travel over the factory shock improves rear-axle absorption on washboard roads, trails, and uneven terrain. The high-performance, long-life damper oil inside the sealed monotube body maintains consistent damping whether the truck is loaded with passengers and gear, towing a trailer, or navigating off-road trails at speed. Vehicle-specific damping valves ensure the rear end stays balanced with the front suspension for a cohesive, controlled ride throughout.

The KYB KP2001 fits the 2022-2025 Toyota Tundra across SR, SR5, Platinum, 1794 Edition, and TRD Off-Road trims in both 2WD and 4WD configurations, and supports both the i-FORCE and i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrains. It does not fit the TRD Pro trim, which uses a factory-installed FOX shock system. This shock is sold individually - two units are needed to replace both rear positions. For owners looking to maximize rear lift beyond 1 inch, the KP2001 is compatible with optional lift springs such as the Old Man Emu 1.5-inch rear lift springs, making it a flexible foundation for a full 2000 Series suspension build.
