Fitment Notes

• Front Left (Driver Side) complete strut assembly. This is a handed unit - Left side only. The companion Front Right (Passenger Side) strut is KONI 8741-1438RSPOR, sold separately. Two front struts (one left, one right) are required for a complete front axle installation.
• This is a COMPLETE FRONT STRUT ASSEMBLY - not a cartridge or insert. The 8741-1438LSPOR replaces the entire OEM front left MacPherson strut on the E46 M3 as a direct bolt-on unit.
• Fits both E46 M3 body styles: the Coupe (produced 2001-2006) and the Convertible (produced 2001-2006). Both share the same front MacPherson strut geometry - one left-front part number covers both body styles.
• The E46 M3 uses a different, wider-track front suspension than the standard E46 3 Series (325i, 328i, 330i, etc.), requiring its own dedicated front strut part numbers. This part does not fit standard E46 3 Series variants; standard E46 models require different KONI strut part numbers.
• The external rebound adjustment knob at the top of the strut allows damping to be tuned on-car once installed, without removing the strut from the vehicle.
• Compatible with OEM spring rates and performance lowering springs. Maximum lowering with springs: 35 mm (approximately 1.4 in).

Product Description

The KONI 8741-1438LSPOR is the Front Left (Driver Side) complete MacPherson strut from KONI's Sport 8741 Series, engineered specifically for the 2001-2006 BMW E46 M3 in both Coupe and Convertible body styles. The E46 M3 uses a dedicated wider-track front suspension that differs from the standard E46 3 Series, requiring its own strut part numbers - this unit is purpose-built for the M3's front geometry and is not compatible with standard E46 325i, 330i, or other non-M variants. The companion right-front strut is KONI 8741-1438RSPOR. As a complete strut assembly, it replaces the entire OEM front left strut as a direct bolt-on unit without cartridge extraction or housing modification.

The externally accessible rebound knob provides approximately 100% of damping range on-car - from a soft, street-touring setting through to a firm, track-optimized tune - without removing the strut from the vehicle.
