Product Description

The KONI 8240 1227SPORT is a performance-tuned rear shock absorber designed for the Mazda RX-8 (2003-2008). Part of KONI's Sport (Yellow) series, this shock features a twin-tube low pressure gas design with internally adjustable rebound damping, allowing you to fine-tune handling to match your driving style and spring setup. Its bright yellow finish resists corrosion, and the unit comes with a limited lifetime warranty from KONI.

This shock improves road holding, cornering precision, and overall suspension response compared to stock shocks, making it ideal for street drivers and enthusiasts alike. It is especially effective when paired with performance lowering springs (up to approximately 35 mm of drop), but proper bump stops should be installed to protect the damper and avoid bottoming out. Sold individually, this rear shock fits either left or right rear positions on compatible RX-8 models that did not come with OE Bilstein rear shocks.
