Fitment Notes

• Front shock absorber - position is Front Left and Front Right. Left and right units are identical (non-handed). Sold individually (per shock); two units are required for a complete front axle replacement.
• Fits the Mazda RX-8 (SE3P platform, 2004-2011) in all supported North American trims. The RX-8 was discontinued in the North American market after 2011.
• All supported RX-8 variants use the naturally-aspirated 1.3L RENESIS twin-rotor rotary (Wankel) engine in rear-wheel-drive configuration. There are no turbocharged or AWD variants of the North American RX-8.
• The 2008 model year introduced the Grand Touring, Sport, and Touring trims. Some 2008 model year RX-8s were originally equipped with OE Bilstein shocks - primarily on the Grand Touring trim. Verify your vehicle's original shock specification before ordering.
• Compatible with OEM spring rates and performance lowering springs up to 35 mm (approximately 1.4 in) of drop.
• Sold per shock - one unit only. A complete front axle installation requires two units of this part number. The companion rear shock for the RX-8 is a separate KONI part number.

The KONI 8241-1226Sport is a yellow-painted, externally adjustable front shock absorber from KONI's Sport 8241 Series, engineered for the Mazda RX-8 (SE3P platform, 2004-2011) in the North American market. It covers the Base and Shinka trims in the earlier production years as well as the Grand Touring, Sport, Touring, and R3 trims introduced for 2008 onward - all powered by the 1.3L RENESIS twin-rotor Wankel rotary engine in rear-wheel-drive configuration. The RX-8's front double-wishbone suspension, already praised for its handling balance, benefits from the KONI Sport's improved road holding, body roll resistance, and front-end sharpness compared to OEM or worn replacement shocks, with the externally adjustable rebound knob allowing the full tuning range to be accessed without removing the shock from the vehicle.
