Product Description

The KONI 8245-1431 Special Active rear shock absorber is a direct-fit, electronics-free adaptive damper for the rear axle of the fifth-generation Toyota RAV4 (XA50 platform, 2019-2025) and the European-market Suzuki Across (2020-present), which shares the same XA50 rear suspension architecture. The shock covers all standard RAV4 trims - including LE, XLE, XSE, Limited, Woodland Edition, and all standard Hybrid configurations in both FWD and AWD - with one important exception: TRD and Adventure trims are incompatible because those packages use raised-height springs and shocks that operate at a different ride height than the OEM-length 8245-1431. The RAV4 Prime PHEV in North America is also excluded due to its distinct rear suspension setup.

KONI's Special Active FSD technology is the defining feature of this shock. An internal patented valve continuously senses the frequency of suspension inputs in real time: under slow, large-amplitude movements - body roll in corners, highway pitch, braking nose dive - the damping stiffens to keep the RAV4 composed and predictable. Under fast, small-amplitude inputs - road texture, expansion joints, coarse pavement - the same shock relaxes instantly to absorb the impact and preserve ride comfort.
