Product Description

The KONI 8245 1190L is a Special Active (Red) series rear left shock absorber for the 2007-2015 Mini Cooper Gen 2 lineup - covering the R55 Clubman, R56 Hatchback, R57 Convertible, R58 Coupe, and R59 Roadster, including all Cooper S, Cooper D, and John Cooper Works variants. It uses KONI's patented Frequency Selective Damping technology, a fully mechanical, electronics-free system that automatically adapts damping force in response to road input. Low-frequency inputs like body roll and cornering trigger a firmer response; high-frequency inputs from road surface imperfections are softened - all without sensors, modules, or calibration.

This shock installs directly in the OEM location using stock springs and hardware, maintaining factory ride height. It must be paired with the matching right rear shock (8245 1190R) for correct axle-set installation. It is not compatible with Mini Countryman (R60), Paceman (R61), or any Mini equipped with VDC electronic damping. For a complete 4-corner kit, pair with front shocks 8745 1189L and 8745 1189R.
