SKU:KINSPR3-16-700

MPN: SPR3-16-700

Weight: 16.5 lb

Inventory: 12

Type: Coilover Springs

Vehicle Fitment

  • Universal - fits all coilover shock absorbers with a 2.5" outside diameter body and a 3.0" spring perch seat. Compatible with King Shocks 2.5" coilovers and all other brands of 2.5" OD coilover shocks accepting a 3.0" ID spring.
  • Verify the spring seat diameter and required free length on your specific shock before ordering. This spring has a 3.0" inside diameter, 16" free length, and 700 lb/in rate.

Fitment Notes

  • The SPR3-16-700 is a 3.0" ID coilover spring designed for use on 2.5" outside diameter shock bodies. It is not compatible with 2.0" body shocks (which use the 2.5" ID SPR25 series) or 3.0" body shocks (which use the 3.75" ID SPR375 series). Confirm your shock body diameter before ordering.
  • At 16" free length and 700 lb/in, this is a very heavy-rate, longer primary spring intended for heavy vehicles or competition builds on 2.5" body shocks that require both a high spring rate to control body motion under extreme load and a longer free length to accommodate extended spring perch spans on high-travel coilover setups. It is not appropriate for lightweight applications or moderate-duty vehicles.
  • Spring selection requires matching free length, rate, and ID to the shock travel and the vehicle's suspension geometry, weight, and intended use. A 700 lb/in rate at 16" is a high-commitment specification - consult your suspension builder or King Shocks directly to confirm this spring is correct for your specific configuration before ordering.
  • Sold individually - one spring per order. Most coilover applications require two or more springs per build; order the quantity needed.
  • The spring rate of 700 lb/in is etched directly into the top coil for clear identification after installation and hard use.

Features

  • 700 lb/in linear spring rate - a very heavy primary rate delivering maximum body motion control under the extreme suspension loads generated by heavy vehicles, high-payload trucks, and aggressive competition builds on 2.5" body shocks; the 700 lb/in rate maintains ride height and resists bottoming through the full travel range under the forces that would compress lighter spring rates to or near their bind point in demanding applications
  • 16" free length - an extended primary spring length that provides greater working travel than the 14" heavy-rate variants, accommodating the larger spring perch spans of higher-travel 2.5" body coilover configurations while keeping the 700 lb/in rate working effectively across a longer suspension stroke before approaching coil bind
  • The combination of 700 lb/in rate and 16" free length is specifically suited for heavy-vehicle, long-travel builds - applications where both high spring rate (to manage load) and longer free length (to support extended travel) are simultaneously required, a combination that shorter or lighter springs in the SPR3 lineup cannot provide
  • Wound specifically for off-road applications from the ground up - not repackaged automotive or industrial springs. King designs spring rate, wire diameter, and coil geometry exclusively for off-road suspension use, with every specification validated through real-world competition testing from Baja to Dakar
  • High-tensile chrome silicon wire - the highest grade spring wire material, providing the tensile strength and fatigue resistance required to sustain a consistent 700 lb/in rate across 16" of working travel under repeated heavy-load off-road suspension cycles without sag, set, or rate degradation
  • Closed and ground ends - both ends are precision ground flat for square, stable seating on spring perches without rocking, cocking, or producing lateral side loads on the shock shaft; at 700 lb/in over 16", correct end geometry is critical as off-axis loads are significantly amplified at high rates across a long spring body
  • Blue powdercoat finish - provides corrosion resistance and visual identification within King's color-coded spring lineup; durable against rock chips, trail debris, mud, and UV exposure in off-road environments
  • Spring rate etched on top coil - permanently etched into the metal before powdercoat application, remaining legible after installation and extended field use for rate confirmation without spring removal
  • Compatible with King Shocks and all other brands of 2.5" OD coilover shocks - the SPR3 series is a universal spring line, not exclusive to King shock bodies
  • Made in USA - manufactured to King Shocks' specifications using domestic production processes and materials
  • Lifetime warranty against sagging and breakage - King covers these springs for life to the original purchaser; in the rare event of failure, replacement is provided with no questions asked

Product Description

The King Shocks SPR3-16-700 is a 3.0" inside diameter, 16" free length, 700 lb/in linear coilover spring for use on 2.5" outside diameter shock bodies. It is a universal spring compatible with King Shocks 2.5" coilovers and all other brands of 2.5" OD coilover shocks that accept a 3.0" ID spring. Sold individually. Made in USA. Lifetime warranty against sagging and breakage.

The SPR3-16-700 combines King's heaviest standard SPR3 spring rate with an extended 16" free length - a specification designed for heavy-vehicle, long-travel builds that require both high spring rate to manage significant suspension loads and sufficient free length to accommodate the extended spring perch spans of high-travel 2.5" body coilover configurations. Where the SPR3-14-700 provides heavy-rate performance within a standard 14" envelope, the SPR3-16-700 extends that capability to longer-travel setups where a 14" spring would approach coil bind before the suspension reaches full compression. At 700 lb/in, this spring maintains ride height, resists bottoming, and keeps suspension geometry consistent under the sustained high loads generated by heavy trucks at or near payload capacity and by high-speed competition vehicles in demanding off-road terrain.

Like all King coilover springs, the SPR3-16-700 is wound from high-tensile chrome silicon wire developed exclusively for off-road use. Maintaining a consistent 700 lb/in rate across 16" of travel requires more total coils than shorter springs at the same rate, placing greater demands on wire consistency and manufacturing precision across the full spring body - King's chrome silicon wire and USA production standards deliver the rate accuracy, load-bearing consistency, and long-term durability that demanding off-road competition and heavy-duty performance applications require. Closed and ground ends ensure flat, square seating, and the rate is permanently etched into the top coil for field identification.
