It installs directly into the factory air box in place of the OEM paper filter element - no modifications, adapters, or additional hardware required. The multi-layer oiled cotton gauze media is the same technology K&N developed for desert motocross racing: designed to flow more air than a standard paper filter while maintaining up to 99% filtration efficiency to protect the engine from contaminants.
