The K&N Typhoon Performance Air Intake System replaces the restrictive factory air filter and intake tube shared across the Ford Explorer, Explorer Sport, Flex, and Taurus SHO's 3.5L turbocharged V6, dramatically reducing airflow restriction. K&N's own dyno testing shows gains of 12.12 horsepower at 5327 RPM and 11.6 lb-ft of torque.

The system pairs with K&N's High-Flow cotton gauze filter under a chrome top, connected through a durable silver powder-coat aluminum tube that accommodates the factory air temperature sensor. Built to only need cleaning every 100,000 miles under normal highway driving conditions.
