Fitment Notes

• Designed for the 2.0L FSI (Fuel Stratified Injection) and early 2.0L TFSI (Turbo FSI) airbox configuration used on PQ35-platform VW and Audi vehicles from 2004-2009
• Does NOT fit later 2.0L TSI-engine VW/Audi models (2009+) with the revised airbox - those use K&N 33-2865
• Does NOT fit 2009+ VW GTI (Mk6) - the Mk6 GTI uses the 2.0L TSI engine and a different airbox
• Does NOT fit VW Jetta or Passat with the 2.5L I5 engine - those require K&N 33-2128
• Fits factory airbox only; not compatible with aftermarket cold air intake systems

Product Description

The K&N 33-2888 is a direct-fit, high-flow replacement air filter for 2004-2009 Volkswagen and Audi vehicles built on the PQ35 platform and equipped with the 2.0L FSI or early 2.0L TFSI four-cylinder engine. This covers the VW Passat B6, GTI Mk5, Jetta Mk5, Eos, Audi A3 (8P), and Audi TT (8J) in their 2.0L configuration. All of these models share the same airbox housing for the FSI/early-TFSI engine, making this a single filter solution across the 2004-2009 VW Group compact lineup. It installs directly into the factory airbox with no cutting, drilling, or modifications required.

The multi-layer oiled cotton gauze construction delivers significantly greater airflow than a standard paper element while maintaining effective filtration. Designed to be cleaned and re-oiled every 75,000 miles rather than replaced, it is a long-term, cost-effective upgrade that is emissions legal in all 50 U.S. states and will not void the manufacturer's warranty.
