Fitment Notes

• Compatible with the Toyota 1GR-FE V6 4.0L engine across all four listed applications. This part fits vehicles equipped WITHOUT the secondary Air Injection (A.I.R.) system only. Vehicles equipped with secondary air injection require a different JBA header application. Verify your vehicle's air injection configuration before ordering.
• For FJ Cruiser, this part applies to the 2005-2009 model years only. 2010+ FJ Cruiser models use a different application (see JBA 2035S-1 or appropriate suffix).
• For 4Runner, this part applies to 2003-2009 (4th generation). The 2010+ 4Runner (5th generation) requires a different application.
• For Tacoma, this part applies to 2005-2011 V6 models. Tacoma 4-cylinder models are not compatible.
• Header applications are based on the original factory cylinder head port centerlines. Raised port or non-stock cylinder heads will cause installation issues and are not compatible with this part.
• Minor welding may be required when installing these headers on the Toyota 1GR-FE engine - confirm with your installer before beginning the installation.
• Exhaust gaskets are NOT included - source new exhaust gaskets separately before installation.
• The 2035S is the natural/raw uncoated finish. For the silver ceramic coated version, see JBA 2035SJS.

Product Description

The JBA 2035S is a Cat4ward shorty header set for the Toyota 1GR-FE V6 4.0L engine, covering the 2005-2011 Tacoma, 2005-2009 FJ Cruiser, 2003-2009 4Runner, and 2005-2006 Tundra in models equipped without secondary Air Injection. This is the natural/raw uncoated 409 stainless steel version - for the silver ceramic coated version of the same application, see JBA 2035SJS. CARB EO exempt and 50-state legal.

The factory 1GR-FE cast iron log manifold combines all three exhaust ports per bank into a shared passage before reaching the catalytic converter - a design that creates turbulence and back pressure, particularly in the mid-to-upper RPM range where exhaust pulse overlap from adjacent cylinders causes interference. JBA's Cat4ward shorty design separates each cylinder's exhaust into its own mandrel-bent 1-1/2" 409 SS primary tube, allowing each cylinder to exhaust independently before merging at JBA's patented Firecone collector. The Firecone's geometry is engineered to merge the three individual primary tube flows at the collector with minimal turbulence, building exhaust velocity into the 2.250" collector outlet for power gains throughout the RPM range without sacrificing the low-end torque that the shorty's near-stock tube length preserves.

The 3/8" thick machined flanges with oversized exhaust ports are significantly more resistant to warping than the factory manifold's flange, and the extra thick collector domes add durability at the merge point where thermal cycling stress is highest. Factory-style O2 sensor connections maintain all factory emissions equipment in their correct positions. Minor welding may be required on the 1GR-FE installation - confirm with your installer.
