• No tune required. The IS1720P is engineered to maintain safe air/fuel ratios across the full RPM range, including the VTEC engagement point, using the stock ECU calibration.
• CARB Exempt - CARB Executive Order D-476-3. Legal for use on vehicles registered in California and all other CARB-compliant states.

Product Description

The Injen IS1720P is an IS Series short ram intake system engineered specifically for all 1997-2001 Honda Prelude models equipped with the 2.2L VTEC four-cylinder (H22A4) engine, covering both the standard Base trim and the ATTS-equipped Type SH. It delivers dyno-tested power gains with no tune required, designed to work within stock ECU parameters while maintaining safe air/fuel ratios through the full RPM range including the VTEC engagement point. The IS1720P is the polished mirror-finish version; owners who prefer a stealthy matte look should see the IS1720BLK.

The IS Series is Injen's traditional underhood intake line - it installs directly in the factory airbox position rather than routing a long pipe down to a low-mounted cold air location. The mandrel-bent 6061-T6 aluminum tube replaces the factory restrictive plastic ducting with a single smooth, seamless airflow path, maximizing velocity into the 2.2L VTEC's throttle body at all engine speeds. The polished finish adds a classic, premium appearance to the Prelude's engine bay that has become iconic in Honda tuning culture. The SuperNano-Web Dry filter provides greater surface area and lower restriction than the OEM paper element, is cleanable with compressed air, and never requires re-oiling for the long term.

For owners in wet or muddy environments, the optional Hydroshields (Part #1033BLK or #1033RED) are available to cover the filter and protect against water ingestion.
