Product Description

The Injen FM9200I is a direct-fit front mount intercooler engineered specifically for the 2015-2023 Ford Mustang EcoBoost with the 2.3L turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The factory tube-and-fin intercooler is a well-documented weak point on the EcoBoost platform - its limited core volume leads to rapid heat soak under sustained boost, raising charge air temperatures and triggering ignition timing pulls that rob power and throttle response. Injen's FM9200I replaces it with a high-efficiency TIG-welded bar-and-plate core built from 100% 6061 aluminum, reducing charge air outlet temperatures by up to 50°F while delivering dyno-proven gains of up to 17 HP and 17 lb-ft of torque.

The intercooler installs directly onto the factory mounting locations with no cutting or drilling required, and its CNC-machined aluminum flanges accept both the factory charge pipes and Injen's SES intercooler pipe upgrades (sold separately). Boost pressure drop is held within 0.5 psi of stock for clean, consistent boost delivery. The unit is sized to support up to 550 HP, making it equally relevant for stock builds and future performance upgrades. Installation takes approximately one hour.
