Fitment Notes

• Compatible with the 1.6L turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine only. Does not fit the 2.0L naturally aspirated Kona or the Kona Electric.
• Does not fit the 2022+ Hyundai Kona, which received a significant platform revision - a dedicated intake for that generation is not yet available from Injen.
• No tune required for installation. The IS1345 is designed to maintain safe air/fuel ratios throughout the powerband using the stock ECU calibration.
• Not currently CARB exempt. Not legal for sale or use on vehicles registered in the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, New Jersey, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Washington.

• Optional Hydroshield (black): Part #1033BLK - fits filter X-1014. Optional Hydroshield (red): Part #1033RED - recommended for use in wet or dusty conditions.

Product Description

The Injen IS1345BLK is an IS Series short ram intake system engineered specifically for the 2018-2021 Hyundai Kona with the 1.6L turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine. It delivers dyno-proven gains of up to 19 horsepower and 19 lb-ft of torque with no tune required, making it the highest-performing bolt-on intake modification available for the first-generation turbocharged Kona. The IS1345BLK is the laser black wrinkle powdercoat version; the polished aluminum IS1345P is also available for owners who prefer a chrome-like finish.

The IS Series is Injen's traditional underhood intake line - it installs in the factory airbox location, directly replacing the stock airbox and intake tube, rather than routing the filter into a remote low-mounted location like a cold air design. This keeps the filter well away from wheel spray and puddles, while still delivering significantly better airflow than the factory restrictive paper element and corrugated plastic ducting. The mandrel-bent 6061-T6 aluminum tube is the core of the system, providing the same smooth, turbulence-free airflow geometry used in Injen's premium SP series - shaped to maximize velocity and volume into the 1.6T's turbocharger inlet. The SuperNano-Web Dry filter provides greater surface area and lower restriction than the OEM element and is fully cleanable and reusable.

The laser black wrinkle powdercoat finish is highly durable and resistant to scuffs, fingerprints, heat, and underhood corrosion - it maintains its appearance over the long term without the polishing maintenance that a mirror-finish tube requires. Installation is a direct bolt-on to the factory mounting location with all included hardware - stainless steel band clamps, silicone coupler, and fasteners - with no permanent modification required. This product is not CARB-exempt and cannot be legally used in California or other CARB-compliant states.
