Fitment Notes

• These trailing arms are a direct bolt-in replacement for the factory rear lower links on all supported platforms - no drilling, cutting, or welding required
• Factory stock arm length is 26.75" - begin with this length during initial installation, then adjust as needed for ride height or pinion angle correction
• On-vehicle length adjustment using ICON's Double Adjuster System allows fine-tuning of axle location and pinion angle without removing the arm from the vehicle
• Bushings require waterproof grease applied during assembly - failure to grease prior to installation will cause premature wear and increased noise; use ICON Nipple Greasing Adapter Kit (part #191013) for service greasing
• All fasteners must be retorqued after the first 100 miles of driving and periodically thereafter

Product Description

The ICON Vehicle Dynamics 54000 is a billet aluminum rear lower trailing arm kit engineered as a direct, bolt-in replacement for the factory rear lower links on the 2003-2024 Toyota 4Runner, 2007-2014 Toyota FJ Cruiser, 2008-2021 Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series, and 2003-2023 Lexus GX (GX470 and GX460). The factory lower links on these platforms are stamped steel with OE rubber bushings - adequate for stock use, but a known weak point when the vehicle is lifted, loaded, and used off-road aggressively. They bind under suspension travel, limit articulation, and are prone to damage from trail contact. The ICON 54000 eliminates all of these issues with a purpose-built billet aluminum replacement that is lighter, substantially stronger, and significantly more capable in articulation than the OE units.

At the frame end, FK Bearing JMX16T PTFE-lined rod ends rated to over 40,000 lbs of load capacity replace the OE rubber bushing - providing precise pivot motion without the deflection and bind that rubber introduces under load. At the axle end, a greaseable multi-piece polyurethane dual-rate bushing assembly with Delrin load rings allows maximum angularity for excellent rear suspension articulation while simultaneously dampening noise and vibration from reaching the cabin. ICON's Double Adjuster System allows the arm length to be changed on the vehicle - critical for centering the rear axle after a lift and for dialing in pinion angle. A replaceable nylon rock slider is integrated into the arm body to absorb contact with rocks and trail obstacles, protecting the aluminum body from direct damage.

Installation uses factory mounting locations on the frame and axle. Begin at the factory stock length of 26.75" and adjust as needed after installation. Bushings must be lubricated with waterproof grease during assembly - dry installation will cause premature wear and noise. All mounting hardware fasteners must be retorqued after the first 100 miles and periodically thereafter. The ICON Nipple Greasing Adapter Kit (part #191013) is recommended for service greasing of the axle bushing zerk fittings. When bushings eventually wear, the ICON 614509 Bushing and Sleeve Kit allows a full refresh of both arms without replacing the arms themselves, extending the service life of the 54000 kit significantly.
