It uses an extended-travel shock length that - when paired with aftermarket upper control arms - unlocks maximum available front wheel travel on the GM HD platform. OEM UCAs are incompatible with this shock's extended length, and ICON's Delta Joint Pro HD UCAs are strongly recommended. The 2.5" remote reservoir shock body delivers increased oil volume and heat dissipation over stock, with an internal Bump Zone that adds 20% more damping force near full compression to prevent harsh bottom-outs during aggressive off-road use or heavy towing.

The 71707P features fixed, vehicle-specific valving - making it the clean, cost-effective option for GM HD owners who want maximum front travel and superior baseline damping without manual adjustability. For buyers who want on-vehicle compression damping adjustment, the 71707CP (CDCV - 10-position knob) and 71707XP (CDXS - independent high/low speed knobs) are available.
