Fitment Notes

• Not compatible with models equipped with the Continuous Control Damping (CCD) electronic suspension system.
• Compatible with OE (factory) spindles only. Do not install in combination with any aftermarket spindles.
• Arm geometry is optimized for use with 1.75-3" of front lift over stock. Not intended for use on stock-height vehicles without a coilover or leveling kit.
• F-150 Raptor (2010-2014, 2017-2020): The Raptor uses a unique wider front suspension geometry and different upper control arm architecture. Verify compatibility with ICON directly before ordering for Raptor applications.
• Recommended minimum wheel diameter: 17". Recommended maximum backspace: 5.00" on both 2WD and 4WD models when running larger off-road tires, to ensure clearance between the tire sidewall and the UCA.
• Recommended aftermarket tire size: 33" x 11.50" (larger tires may fit but may require fender trimming).

Product Description

The ICON 98500DJ is a tubular upper control arm kit with Delta Joints engineered specifically for the 2004-2020 Ford F-150 on both 2WD and 4WD platforms. The factory upper control arm on the F-150 uses a stamped steel construction with a pressed-in ball joint that was never intended to operate at the steeper angles created by a lifted or leveled suspension. Once a lift or leveling kit is installed, the stock arm reaches the limits of its alignment adjustment range and its ball joint begins to bind - reducing suspension travel, accelerating wear, and compromising steering feel. The 98500DJ replaces the entire upper arm assembly with a purpose-built, CNC-bent 1026 DOM steel unit that is engineered to operate well beyond stock angles and corrects caster geometry as part of its design.

The defining feature of the 98500DJ is ICON's patented Delta Joint. Standard uniball upper control arms are excellent at eliminating bind and allowing high-angle articulation, but their open metal-on-metal design is inherently vulnerable to contamination from road grit, water, and salt - leading to wear and noise over time. The Delta Joint solves this with a sealed zinc-plated housing and grease seal that protects the internals while still allowing the high angularity required for lifted applications. A Zerk grease fitting enables periodic lubrication for extended service life. The result is a joint that outperforms a uniball in daily-driven durability while matching or exceeding it in off-road articulation capability.

The 98500DJ's built-in caster correction is one of its most practically valuable features - it restores the front end to factory alignment spec after a 1.75-3" lift, preventing the excessive positive caster that commonly causes uneven tire wear and steering wander on lifted F-150s. The serviceable dual-stage polyurethane bushing kit reduces deflection at the inner pivot and improves road feedback over factory rubber. This kit is compatible with all standard F-150 trims across all available engines from 2004 to 2020 and is 100% compatible with OEM wheels and tires. It is not compatible with models equipped with ICON's Continuous Control Damping (CCD) system, and must be used with OEM spindles only.
