The Hotchkis 22842 is a complete front and rear adjustable sport sway bar set engineered for the BMW F80 M3, F82/F83 M4, and F87 M2 - covering the full production run of BMW's F8X M chassis family from 2015 through 2021. While the F8X M cars are benchmark-level performance vehicles from the factory, BMW's stock suspension calibration remains biased toward understeer and limits the driver's ability to rotate the car on corner entry or apply throttle steering on exit. The Hotchkis 22842 addresses this directly by providing independently adjustable front and rear roll stiffness with an unusually wide tuning range: the 32mm front bar offers four spring rate settings (100, 125, 140, 160 lbs/in.) while the 25.5mm rear bar offers three (165, 185, 200 lbs/in.), yielding seven distinct front-to-rear balance combinations without purchasing any additional hardware.

This level of adjustability is critical for drivers who use the same car across multiple environments. A softer front/stiffer rear combination produces a neutral-to-oversteer balance ideal for technical autocross courses where rotation matters more than raw cornering speed.
