Product Description

The HKS Hipermax S Coilovers (80330-AZ002) cover the complete production run of the Mazda RX-7 FD3S from 1991 through 2002, fitting all six factory type variants under a single SKU. The kit is tuned to suit the FD3S's unique weight distribution and rotary-specific chassis behavior, with a slightly stiffer rear spring rate (11 kgf/mm) than front (10 kgf/mm) to account for the rear-heavy balance of the twin-turbo 13B-REW platform. The factory-default drop of 20mm front and 24mm rear gives an immediate visual improvement and handling benefit without requiring any immediate setup work.

Unlike many HKS kits for front-strut applications, the FD3S kit uses a normal (non-inverted) damper layout on both ends, matching the FD3S's double-wishbone suspension geometry at all four corners. The 30-step damping dials allow fine-tuning from comfortable street driving to a more track-focused setup, and the rear helper spring ensures spring control at lower ride heights.
