Fitment Notes

• Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition (TME) is not compatible with this exhaust system - do not order for TME variants
• Direct bolt-on installation - no cutting, welding, or modification to the vehicle is required
• All mounting hardware and gaskets are included in the kit
• Minimum road clearance with stock suspension: 165mm at the center pipe - verify clearance before installation if the vehicle is lowered
• This is a cat-back system consisting of 3 pieces - the catalytic converter and front pipe remain OEM

Product Description

The HKS 31006-AM004 is a Hi-Power 409 cat-back exhaust system developed for the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV, V, and VI. Engineered from HKS's endurance and GT racing experience, the Hi-Power 409 series applies a minimal-bend, straight-through exhaust path to reduce backpressure and maximize exhaust velocity - a particularly effective approach on turbocharged platforms like the 4G63T, where increased exhaust flow translates directly to improved mid-range boost response and stronger top-end power.

The system uses a dual-material construction: the center piping is fabricated from SUH409 stainless steel, which offers superior thermal expansion resistance and better sound absorption properties than standard SUS304, while the visible tip and silencer are crafted from polished SUS304 for lasting corrosion resistance and finish quality. Advantex glass wool insulation by Owens Corning is used throughout the silencer for consistent sound dampening. The system installs in three sections with a direct bolt-on fit - all gaskets and hardware are included - and raises exhaust output from the OEM 91dB to 98dB measured close to the exhaust. Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition owners should note that this system is not compatible with the TME variant.
