  • 1985-1989 Nissan Fairlady Z (PZ31/PGZ31, 2.0L RB20DET, RWD)

Fitment Notes

  • Sport/Reinforced Type - approximately 1.5x stronger than the standard HKS Fine Tune Timing Belt (24999-AN001)
  • Replaces OEM timing belt reference number 13028-20P25
  • Optimized for circuit and high-RPM race use; recommended for builds requiring maximum timing belt reliability under sustained high-torque conditions
  • Operation sound may occur at certain tension settings due to higher belt stiffness - normal for this application
  • Nylon fiber tooth construction may cause wear to cam pulleys - regular pulley inspection and maintenance required

Features

  • Approximately 1.5x improvement in heat resistance, rib load strength, rib longevity, and shear resistance over the standard AN001 belt
  • Mould-formed tooth profile using high-saturation H-NBR rubber - prevents tooth deformation and belt skip under high torque
  • Nylon fiber tooth construction maintains tooth cloth strength by eliminating residual tensile stress from conventional manufacturing
  • Belt strength optimized specifically for RB-series engine applications to maintain stable tension during heat expansion
  • Purple HKS-branded belt with logo, product name, and code number printed directly on the belt
  • Purpose-built for race and circuit driving conditions where timing precision is critical

Specifications

  • Type: Sport / Reinforced (Race-Focused)
  • Belt Size: 141YS25.4
  • Belt Color: Purple (HKS branded)
  • Tooth Rubber Material: High-Saturation H-NBR (Hydrogenated Nitrile Butadiene Rubber)
  • Tooth Construction: Nylon Fiber with Metal Mould-Formed Profile
  • OEM Cross-Reference: 13028-20P25
  • Strength vs Standard Belt: ~1.5x (heat resistance, rib load, shear resistance)
  • Compatible Engines: RB20DE, RB20DET, RB25DE, RB25DET, RB26DETT

Included Components

  • 1x HKS Finetune Timing Belt Sport - Reinforced Type (141YS25.4)

Product Description

The HKS 24999-AN002 Finetune Timing Belt Sport is the race-focused, reinforced evolution of the standard AN001 Fine Tune Timing Belt, engineered specifically for RB-series engines across the Nissan Skyline, Stagea, Cefiro, Laurel, Cedric/Gloria, and Fairlady Z platforms. Delivering approximately 1.5x greater heat resistance, rib load strength, rib longevity, and shear resistance compared to the standard version, this belt is purpose-built for circuit driving and high-output builds where timing belt integrity under sustained high-RPM and high-torque conditions is non-negotiable.

Construction uses high-saturation H-NBR rubber with a nylon fiber, mould-formed tooth profile - a manufacturing technique that preserves tooth cloth integrity by eliminating the residual tensile stress caused by conventional external-pressure forming methods. This prevents belt skip and tooth damage even under extreme torque loads. Note that the increased belt stiffness may generate operational noise at certain tension settings, and the nylon fiber tooth material requires regular inspection and maintenance of cam pulleys to prevent premature pulley wear.
