The HKS 2399-RN001 is a ductile iron cylinder liner set developed to solve one of the most significant structural limitations of the SR20DET engine in high-power builds - the aluminum block. While the SR20DET's aluminum construction keeps weight low, it lacks the rigidity and thermal resilience needed to withstand sustained high cylinder pressure at 500+ horsepower levels. These ductile iron liners are pressed into the block to replace the aluminum cylinder walls, providing a dramatically stronger foundation that can reliably support the bore sizes and combustion pressures generated by serious power builds.

This liner set is specifically recommended for use alongside the HKS SR20DET 2.2L Stroker Kit, where the enlarged 87mm bore pistons require the cylinder walls to be machined out beyond what the stock aluminum block can safely sustain long-term. The ductile iron liners accept both 86mm and 87mm bore sizes, and can be further bored for pistons larger than 87mm after installation by a qualified machine shop. The ring contact surface geometry is matched to HKS SR20 piston rings for optimal sealing performance.
