The HKS 1430-RN005 is a direct-replacement internal wastegate actuator upgrade kit for the SR20DET-powered Nissan Silvia S14 (1993-1998) and S15 (1999-2002). The OEM actuator diaphragm on these turbocharged platforms is a known weak point - years of heat cycling, boost pressure pulses, and vibration cause the diaphragm to crack or permeate, resulting in boost spikes, inconsistent peak boost, and wastegate flutter that can stress the turbocharger and reduce engine reliability. This HKS unit replaces the factory actuator with a reinforced diaphragm assembly that restores consistent, predictable wastegate control from the first install.
