Product Description

The HKS 15004-AH105 Oil Cooler Kit Black is engineered to solve a critical thermal weakness in the FL5 Civic Type R - rapid oil temperature rise during high-load driving. Despite the FL5's improvements in power, handling, and aerodynamics over its FK8 predecessor, HKS found through track testing that the OEM front bumper airflow alone is insufficient to manage oil temperatures under sustained +R Mode use. This kit directly addresses that gap with a purpose-built cooling system designed around the FL5's chassis geometry and aerodynamic profile.

The system mounts the 9-stage oil cooler core inside the left front fender, feeding it through a dedicated large-capacity air duct that introduces fresh, unheated air straight to the core. Heated air is then efficiently evacuated through an aerodynamically tested exit path, keeping the entire system balanced without negatively impacting coolant temperature or A/C performance. An outlet plate shields the core from road debris, making this kit suitable for both street and circuit environments.
