The Hellwig 984 EZ-990 Rear Helper Spring Kit is a medium-duty rear load assist kit engineered specifically for the 2004-2008 Ford F-150 in 2WD and 4WD. The 12th-generation F-150 introduced a fully boxed frame, independent front suspension, and a new rear leaf spring geometry that required a generation-specific helper spring design. The 984 is that solution - an EZ-990 series step-bracket style helper spring calibrated for the 2004-2008 F-150's rear axle and leaf spring geometry, providing 2,000 lbs. of additional level load capacity to eliminate the rear sag that affects F-150 owners who regularly tow trailers or carry heavy bed loads near maximum payload.

The step-bracket installation method is a key practical advantage: unlike helper springs that require full removal of the factory U-bolts and spring pack disassembly, the 984 clamps over the top of the factory leaf pack using the heavy-duty U-bolts included in the kit.
