Product Description

The Hella 003427861 is a Vision Plus E-Code H4 conversion headlamp for any vehicle using the standard 5x7" / 7x6" rectangular sealed beam headlight format -- including the 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ, 1987-1995 Wrangler YJ, and 1986-1992 Comanche MJ. The E-Code (European Code) optic is the primary advantage over DOT conversion headlamps -- where DOT units scatter light in all directions including upward, the E-Code design concentrates the beam with a hard cutoff line and a right-side wedge that illuminates the shoulder of the road without blinding oncoming traffic. This allows the use of higher-output H4 bulbs that would cause glare problems with a DOT reflector pattern.

Output is 50% higher on low beam and 25% higher on high beam versus a standard sealed halogen. The housing uses a highly polished metal reflector for a uniform, controlled beam. The H4 bulb is included and is user-replaceable -- the housing does not need to be replaced at end of bulb life.
