Fitment Notes

  • Universal caliper-specific fitment - not assigned to any particular vehicle make, model, or axle position.
  • Pad thickness is 0.800 in. - confirm your caliper's required pad thickness before ordering; the HB521 shape is also available in 0.650 in. for other caliper configurations.
  • Some caliper applications may require drilling a center mounting hole - consult Hawk's Specialty Caliper Guide to confirm your specific setup.
  • For race and high-performance driving events only - not suitable for street daily driving.
  • Not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors; designed for iron/metal rotors only.
  • Requires a proper race bed-in procedure after installation before competitive use.

Features

  • DTC-70 compound is Hawk's highest-torque race pad - engineered with extremely aggressive initial bite for the maximum deceleration rates demanded by serious circuit racing.
  • Exceptional torque control with superb modulation and release characteristics - delivers predictable, consistent braking even at extreme operating temperatures.
  • Superior pad and rotor wear life for a top-tier race compound - well-suited to both sprint and endurance racing formats.
  • High temperature operating range of 400-1600°F with an optimal window of 800-1200°F - built for sustained, repeated heavy braking at professional circuit speeds.
  • Proven in NASCAR, ARCA, Sports Car/GT, Open Wheel/Formula, and monster truck competition.
  • Works as a standalone race solution or in split-friction setups with DTC-60 on the rear axle.

Product Description

The Hawk HB521U.800 DTC-70 brake pads are purpose-built for the Wilwood Superlite SL and BB SL caliper family (part# 7420) and select AP Racing CP8250/CP8350, CompBrake Pro Race One, and StopTech ST-43 calipers - all in the 0.800" pad thickness configuration. As Hawk's most aggressive and highest-torque motorsport compound, the DTC-70 is engineered for cars competing at the absolute limit: high-speed, high-downforce race vehicles demanding maximum deceleration rates with controllable, consistent brake feel under repeated hard stops.

The DTC-70's extreme initial bite, outstanding torque control, and superior modulation characteristics have made it a go-to choice across NASCAR, ARCA, Sports Car/GT, and open-wheel racing. Many racers of heavier, more powerful cars pair DTC-70 up front with DTC-60 on the rear axle for an optimal split-friction balance. Due to the compound's high optimal temperature window of 800-1200°F, proper heat cycling and a thorough race bed-in procedure are mandatory before competitive use. These pads are not intended for street driving under any circumstances.
