Vehicle Fitment

  • Universal - fits any vehicle equipped with a Wilwood W4A (4-piston) or W6A (6-piston) racing caliper, Wilwood pad type 6617, 0.670 in. pad thickness

Fitment Notes

  • Universal application - not vehicle-specific. Fits Wilwood W4A and W6A calipers identified by Wilwood pad type 6617.
  • Verify your Wilwood caliper's pad type number before ordering - Wilwood uses several different pad shapes across their caliper lineup. Type 6617 is specific to the W4A and W6A caliper families.
  • For circuit racing, HPDE, and track use only - DTC-60 is not recommended for street daily driving.
  • Not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors; designed for iron/metal rotors only.
  • Expect significantly increased noise and dust compared to street compounds.
  • Requires a proper race bed-in procedure after installation.

Features

  • DTC-60 compound delivers high torque with high initial bite - engineered for the sustained, high-temperature braking demands of purpose-built race cars running Wilwood W4A or W6A calipers.
  • Superior release and torque control characteristics for precise, repeatable braking performance through consecutive corners at circuit speeds.
  • High temperature operating range of 400-1600°F with an optimal window of 700-1100°F - the compound reaches peak performance under sustained race-level braking heat.
  • Very low abrasive rotor wear for a high-torque race compound - extended rotor service life across sprint and endurance racing formats.
  • Works effectively as a standalone compound or paired with DTC-70 on the opposing axle for split-friction brake bias tuning.
  • Proven across NASCAR, Sports Car/GT, Trans-Am, Open Wheel/Formula, and Sports Prototype competition.
  • Backed by Hawk's limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

Product Description

The Hawk HB800G.670 DTC-60 race brake pads are engineered for Wilwood W4A (4-piston) and W6A (6-piston) calipers using Wilwood pad type 6617, making them a universal fit for any race car or track-day build equipped with these Wilwood caliper families. The 0.670 in. pad thickness and W4A/W6A caliper interface are found across a wide range of custom big brake kit applications, from club racers to professional GT and prototype machinery. For competitors who have already maximized HP Plus-class compounds and need a higher-temperature, higher-torque solution from their Wilwood brakes, the DTC-60 delivers race-proven performance with superior release characteristics.

The DTC-60's optimal temperature window of 700-1100°F means the compound reaches peak friction under the kind of sustained hard braking generated at circuit speeds - it is not intended for cold street use and must be brought up to temperature before performing at its best. DTC-60 is frequently paired with DTC-70 on the opposing axle to achieve a desired front-to-rear brake bias, or run on both axles where balanced, high-torque braking is the priority. A thorough race bed-in procedure is mandatory after installation.
