Fitment Notes

  • This is a caliper-specific universal brake pad. Fitment is determined solely by caliper model, not by vehicle year, make, or model.
  • For Alcon CAR89 caliper fitment: this pad uses the HB122 shape with 51mm radial depth. The HB1109 shape (54mm radial depth) is a separate application - verify your caliper's pad depth before ordering.
  • Not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors. Designed exclusively for use with iron/metal rotors.
  • DTC-70 is a pure motorsport compound and is not recommended for street use under any circumstances.
  • Due to the aggressive nature of this compound, it should only be used by experienced racers who have identified a need for higher torque levels than the DTC-60 can provide.
  • Verify caliper model and pad depth before ordering. Do not order based on vehicle application alone.

Features

  • DTC-70 Ferro-Carbon compound - Hawk Performance's highest-torque race pad formulation, engineered for vehicles operating at maximum deceleration rates, with or without aerodynamic downforce.
  • Extremely high torque with aggressive, controllable initial bite - Delivers the hardest stopping force in Hawk's DTC lineup while maintaining the driver modulation and pedal control needed for competitive race use.
  • Same temperature range as DTC-60, higher torque output - The DTC-70 shares the DTC-60's 400-1,600°F operating window but produces significantly greater brake torque, making it the preferred front-axle compound when paired with DTC-60 on the rear.
  • Superior release and torque control characteristics - Despite its extreme torque level, the DTC-70 maintains excellent modulation and clean release at corner exit, critical for maintaining rear stability in high-grip race cars.
  • Split friction compatible - Designed to run on the front axle paired with DTC-60 at the rear, giving race engineers precise front-to-rear brake bias control through compound selection on heavier, faster platforms.
  • Unbeatable pad and rotor wear - Hawk rates DTC-70 as offering superior rotor and pad longevity within its class, making it viable across endurance sessions without sacrificing peak performance.
  • Race-proven across multiple disciplines - Validated in NASCAR, NASCAR Modified, ARCA, Super Late Model, pavement circle track, Pro 2/Pro 4 Off Road Trucks, Pro Lite, Sports Car/GT/GS, Open Wheel/Formula, and Monster Truck applications.
  • Integrally molded construction - Eliminates the noise and movement associated with loose shims, providing a direct, stable pad-to-piston interface at extreme operating temperatures.
  • 100% asbestos, lead, chromium, cadmium, and antimony free - Manufactured in an ISO-certified facility to meet the strictest motorsport material and quality standards.

Product Description

The Hawk HB122U.710 DTC-70 brake pads represent the top of Hawk Performance's motorsport compound hierarchy in the HB122 pad shape, purpose-built for the Alcon CAR89, AP Racing CP5060-10/11/12/13ST and CP5570, Baer 6S/6R, and StopTech ST-60 caliper platforms. The DTC-70 compound delivers the highest torque output in Hawk's DTC lineup - sharing the DTC-60's wide 400-1,600°F operating range but producing a substantially greater and more aggressive friction coefficient at working temperature. With an optimal zone of 700-1,100°F, these pads are engineered for vehicles that generate repeated, high-magnitude decelerations under race conditions, whether on flat circuits, banked ovals, or high-downforce sports car events.

The DTC-70 is most commonly deployed as a front-axle pad in a split-friction setup, paired with DTC-60 pads on the rear. This combination is the preferred strategy for heavier, faster race platforms - Corvettes, Mustangs, Porsches, BMWs, and other specialty race cars - where maximum front braking force is required while maintaining rear traction stability. Despite its extreme torque characteristics, Hawk has engineered the DTC-70 to maintain excellent modulation and a clean, predictable brake release, ensuring drivers can trail-brake confidently without triggering rear instability. For the Alcon CAR89 caliper specifically, buyers must confirm the 51mm radial depth variant before ordering, as the 54mm variant uses the HB1109 pad shape.

Because the HB122U.710 is a caliper-specific universal pad, fitment is based entirely on caliper model - not on vehicle year, make, or model. The DTC-70 is strictly a motorsport-only compound; it requires high sustained temperatures to function optimally and is not suitable for street driving or casual track day use. It is designed exclusively for iron and metal rotors and must not be used with carbon ceramic brake discs. This pad is recommended only for experienced racers who have already run a less aggressive compound and require higher peak torque and temperature capability than the DTC-60 can deliver.
