Fitment Notes

  • Front axle application only - Brembo caliper fitment.
  • Mazda MX-5 Miata ND fitment applies to vehicles equipped with the optional Brembo/BBS package only. Standard non-Brembo ND Miata front brakes use a different pad shape.
  • Cobalt SS and HHR SS fitment applies to the turbocharged SS trim with Brembo front calipers only - does not fit non-SS Cobalt or HHR.
  • Suitable for autocross, track days, and spirited street driving - still streetable, but expect increased dust, noise, and rotor wear compared to HPS.
  • Not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors; designed for iron/metal rotors only.
  • Compatible with stock, slotted, and cross-drilled iron/metal rotors.
  • No electronic wear sensor or hardware included.

Features

  • HP Plus Ferro-Carbon compound bridges the gap between street HPS and full race compounds - higher torque than HPS with a very wide temperature range that keeps it streetable.
  • Extremely high coefficient of friction delivers aggressive stopping power for autocross, Solo II, and track day applications on Brembo-equipped platforms.
  • Wide operating temperature range of 100-800°F with an optimal window of 100-600°F - effective from a cold street start through sustained track heat cycles.
  • Consistent, fade-resistant braking across consecutive hard stops - ideal for timed autocross runs and HPDE sessions.
  • Gentle enough to drive home from the track without pad changes, though increased dust and noise are expected compared to street compounds.
  • Backed by Hawk's limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

Product Description

The Hawk HB548N.510 HP Plus front brake pads are engineered for the OEM Brembo front calipers shared across the 2007-2010 Chevrolet Cobalt SS, 2008-2010 Chevrolet HHR SS, 2015-2020 Alfa Romeo 4C (all variants), and 2016-2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata ND Club, Grand Touring, Sport, and RF Club models equipped with the Brembo/BBS package. Positioned between the street-oriented HPS and the track-only DTC race compounds, the HP Plus delivers the highest friction levels available in a compound that can still be driven on the street - making it the go-to choice for autocross competitors, HPDE regulars, and weekend warriors who want serious stopping power without the inconvenience of dedicated track pads.

For Cobalt SS and HHR SS owners who push their Brembo brakes hard at autocross, and for ND Miata and Alfa 4C drivers who alternate between canyon runs and track days, the HP Plus compound offers maximum real-world versatility. Its wide effective temperature range starting from cold means confident braking on the street, while the elevated upper limit and high friction coefficient keep it composure through repeated hard stops on circuit. Expect more dust and noise than HPS, and a higher rate of rotor wear - acceptable trade-offs for drivers who prioritize braking performance above all else. A proper bed-in procedure is required after installation.
