  • 1975-1980 Volvo 260 Series (262, 264, 265) - Rear

Fitment Notes

  • Position varies by application: Front for Triumph Spitfire, Triumph Herald, and Plymouth Cricket; Rear for all Volvo 100/140/160/240/260 series and 1800 series applications.
  • Pad shape: HB118 | Thickness: 0.560 in. (14mm)
  • DTC-70 is a race-only compound - not recommended for street use due to extremely high operating temperatures required for optimal performance and aggressive initial bite when cold.
  • Not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors. Designed for use with iron/metal rotors only.
  • Can be used as a split compound with DTC-60 on the opposing axle for brake bias tuning - many racers run DTC-70 front paired with DTC-60 rear.

Features

  • DTC-70 (Dynamic Torque Control 70) compound delivers extremely high torque with aggressive, controllable initial bite engineered for cars with high deceleration rates with or without downforce
  • Superior release and torque control characteristics provide precise, repeatable brake modulation under sustained high-load motorsport conditions
  • High-temperature fade resistance maintains consistent stopping performance across the extended heat cycles encountered in circuit, oval, and endurance racing events
  • Superior rotor and pad wear characteristics for a DTC racing compound - outperforms DTC-80 in terms of consumable longevity while maintaining very high torque output
  • Excellent modulation allows the driver to finely tune brake bias and pedal feel when used as split friction with DTC-60 on the opposing axle
  • Applicable to NASCAR/NASCAR modified, ARCA, Super Late Models, pavement circle track, Pro 2/Pro 4 Off Road Trucks/Pro Lite, Sports Car/GT/GS, Open Wheel/Formula, and Monster Trucks
  • Ferro-Carbon friction material engineered for the thermal and mechanical demands of professional motorsport
  • Sold as a set - covering one axle position per set

Product Description

The Hawk Performance HB118U.560 is a set of DTC-70 compound brake pads in the HB118 shape at 0.560 in. (14mm) thickness - engineered for use on the front axle of Triumph Spitfire (1966-1980), Triumph Herald 13/60 (1965), and Plymouth Cricket (1968, 1972) race cars, and on the rear axle of a wide range of Volvo 100, 140, 160, 240, 260 series, and 1800 series vehicles from 1968 through 1984. The DTC-70 compound is Hawk's highest-torque Dynamic Torque Control racing formulation, delivering extremely aggressive initial bite with controllable modulation - purpose-built for vehicles with high deceleration rates whether operating with or without aerodynamic downforce.

DTC-70 was developed for the highest levels of circuit and oval racing and has been proven in applications ranging from NASCAR and ARCA to Super Late Models, Sports Car/GT racing, open wheel Formula, Pro Off Road Trucks, and Monster Trucks. Its optimal operating window of 800-1,200°F demands that the pads be properly heat-cycled before consistent performance can be expected, making it a race-track-only compound that is not suitable for cold-start street use. The DTC-70's superior release and torque control characteristics make it effective as a standalone compound on both axles, or as a split friction setup with DTC-60 on the opposing axle - a common configuration used by racers seeking precise front-to-rear brake bias adjustment.

The HB118 pad shape serves a diverse range of classic British and Scandinavian vehicles - fitting the front caliper of the Triumph Spitfire's iconic disc brake setup and the rear calipers of the Volvo P-series and 200/260 platform. For classic car racers building competitive Triumph Spitfire or Volvo race cars, the HB118U.560 provides a direct-fit, race-grade braking solution backed by Hawk's motorsport engineering expertise. All Hawk DTC compounds are designed for iron/metal rotors and are not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors.
