Fitment Notes

  • Position: Front axle only for all applications listed above.
  • Not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors. For use with iron/metal rotors only.
  • All Nissan GT-R R35 variants listed here use the 3.8L VR38DETT twin-turbocharged V6 with Nissan's ATTESA E-TS AWD system throughout the covered model years. Engine output varied by model year and trim from approximately 480hp to over 600hp (Nismo), but all share the same front brake caliper architecture covered by this pad.
  • The North American GT-R R35 was introduced for the 2009 model year. There was no North American 2007 or 2008 GT-R - verify model year documentation before ordering for any pre-2009 application.
  • DTC-60 is a pure motorsport compound not suitable for street use. It requires sustained operating temperatures that cannot be achieved in normal road driving, and its aggressive friction characteristics would create unpredictable cold-braking behavior on public roads.
  • For GT-R owners who track their car at HPDE events and circuit days where OEM and street pads have proven insufficient, DTC-60 provides high-torque motorsport front brake performance from the GT-R's front Brembo calipers with the excellent modulation and controlled initial bite the platform demands.
  • The standard split-friction race setup pairs DTC-70 at the front with DTC-60 at the rear on heavier platforms. For the GT-R, DTC-60 front with a complementary rear compound provides a front-biased setup appropriate for the car's AWD-influenced braking balance.

Features

  • DTC-60 Ferro-Carbon compound - Hawk's high-torque motorsport formulation with less initial bite than DTC-70, engineered specifically for vehicles running at high deceleration rates with or without aerodynamic downforce, and particularly well-suited to the Nissan GT-R's front Brembo calipers where the compound's excellent modulation and release characteristics complement the car's advanced AWD braking dynamics at circuit events and track days.
  • Superior release and front torque control - The DTC-60's progressive engagement and clean release are defining advantages on the GT-R's platform, where the ATTESA E-TS AWD system manages front-to-rear torque distribution in concert with braking inputs - making predictable, controllable front brake engagement more valuable than the extreme initial aggression of DTC-70 in most circuit driving scenarios.
  • Very low abrasive rotor wear - Despite its motorsport classification, DTC-60 produces significantly lower rotor wear than compounds positioned above it in Hawk's lineup, extending the service life of the GT-R's front Brembo-clamped iron rotors across track events and competitive driving sessions.
  • Wide operating temperature range - 400-1,600°F total range with a 700-1,100°F optimal window, covering the sustained elevated front brake temperatures generated by the GT-R's Brembo front calipers during circuit racing, track days, and performance driving events where the stock OEM pads reach their thermal limits.
  • Excellent modulation and consistent pedal feel - Maintains a stable friction coefficient across the full operating temperature range, delivering repeatable, confidence-inspiring front brake torque for consistent lap-to-lap braking performance in competitive use.
  • Popular choice on lightweight-to-medium front axle applications - Hawk specifically recommends DTC-60 as the compound of choice for cars where DTC-70's extreme initial bite is more than the application requires, making it the well-matched front compound for the GT-R in most track day and circuit competition formats.
  • Race-validated across multiple motorsport disciplines - Applicable to Sports Car/GT/GS, pavement circle track, Open Wheel/Formula, NASCAR modified, and endurance racing applications where high front brake torque with controlled initial bite is required.
  • 100% asbestos, lead, chromium, cadmium, and antimony free - Manufactured in an ISO-certified facility to strict quality and environmental standards.

Product Description

The Hawk HB650G.730 DTC-60 front brake pads are engineered for the OEM Brembo front caliper of the Nissan GT-R R35, covering the full North American production run from the 2009 launch model through the 2018 model year, including Base, Premium, Black Edition, Track Edition, Pure, and Nismo trims. All R35 GT-R variants use the 3.8L VR38DETT twin-turbocharged V6 with ATTESA E-TS AWD. Engine output evolved across the production run - from 480hp in the original 2009 models to over 600hp in the Nismo variant - but all share the same front brake caliper architecture covered by this pad.

DTC-60 is the appropriate compound progression for GT-R owners who have pushed the OEM front pads beyond their thermal limits at circuit events and track days. Its 400-1,600°F operating range (optimal: 700-1,100°F) addresses the sustained heat the GT-R's front Brembo calipers generate under repeated hard braking, while the compound's controlled initial bite and excellent modulation make it well-suited to the GT-R's unique braking character. The ATTESA E-TS AWD system's interaction with braking inputs makes progressive, predictable front brake engagement more important on the GT-R than on a simple RWD platform - a characteristic where DTC-60's manageable initial bite outperforms the more abrupt engagement of DTC-70 in most circuit driving scenarios.

DTC-60 is a track-only compound and must not be used for street driving. This pad is for the front axle only. A separate rear pad is required for a complete front-and-rear brake upgrade. Compatible with iron and metal rotors only; carbon ceramic brake discs are not supported.
