The Hawk HB470G.643 DTC-60 front brake pads are engineered for the front axle of the 2004-2011 Mazda RX-8 across all trim levels - Base, Shinka, 40th Anniversary Edition, Sport, Touring, Grand Touring, and R3 - all sharing the FMSI D1009 front caliper. The DTC-60 is Hawk's high-torque race compound, designed for cars with high deceleration rates and offering very high brake torque with high initial bite and superior release characteristics - a natural choice for the free-revving, RWD RX-8 on circuit.

For RX-8 racers running time attack, HPDE, sprint events, or endurance racing, the DTC-60 delivers the fade-free, high-temperature sustained braking performance that the rotary-powered platform demands. Due to the high optimal temperature window of 700-1100°F, these pads require proper heat cycling before they perform at their peak, and are not suitable for street driving. They work well as a standalone front compound or in a split-friction configuration with a lower-torque compound like DTC-30 or Blue 9012 on the rear axle. A thorough race bed-in procedure is mandatory after installation.
