Fitment Notes

  • Does NOT fit vehicles equipped with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) rotors - option code I450/M450. The 911 Turbo is the only model in this fitment list where Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) are also supported, as confirmed by multiple Porsche-specialist sources.
  • This pad is position-specific: Rear axle only. Front axle applications require a different Hawk part number.
  • Pad thickness is 0.624 in (15.85mm). Verify your existing rear pad thickness before ordering.
  • GT3 Cup race cars share this pad geometry; however, this ceramic compound is intended for street and spirited driving use - not competition-only events.
  • All Hawk Performance compounds are not compatible with carbon ceramic (PCCB) rotors, except where PCCB fitment is explicitly noted above for the 911 Turbo.

Features

  • Hawk Performance Ceramic (Z-compound) - a premium, high-performance, ultra-low dust ceramic formulation engineered to meet and exceed the stringent low-noise standards expected on Porsche sports cars.
  • Engineered to reduce brake NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) for the quietest performance brake pad experience in Hawk's lineup - ideal for daily-driven performance vehicles.
  • Linear friction profile across the full operating temperature range (100-650°F; optimal 100-450°F) allows the factory ABS system to operate at peak effectiveness, maintaining consistent modulation under all braking conditions.
  • Ultra-low brake dust output - substantially cleaner than OEM Brembo pads and most ferro-carbon performance compounds, keeping factory wheels and calipers noticeably cleaner over time.
  • Increased stopping power over OEM pads without sacrificing traditional ceramic pad attributes - no trade-off between performance and cleanliness.
  • Rotor-friendly compound reduces rotor wear and extends disc service life compared to aggressive race-compound pads.
  • Extended pad service life with reduced material wear rate, reducing the frequency of pad replacement cycles on high-performance Porsche platforms.
  • Stable, predictable friction output over repeated braking cycles - consistent pedal feel from cold to fully heat-cycled conditions, with no aggressive bite-in period required.

Product Description

The Hawk Performance HB651Z.624 Performance Ceramic brake pad is engineered specifically for the rear axle of Porsche 911 997-generation models, covering the full spectrum of performance trims from the base Carrera through the GT2 RS and Turbo S. Designed as a premium OEM-replacement upgrade, this pad addresses one of the most common complaints among Porsche 911 owners: excessive brake dust from factory Brembo pads. Hawk's proprietary ceramic composite compound delivers a dramatic reduction in dust output while simultaneously improving stopping power over stock, making it the ideal choice for enthusiasts who want their wheels and calipers to stay clean without sacrificing braking capability.

The Performance Ceramic compound maintains a linear friction profile across its full temperature window - from the first cold stop to extended spirited driving - which means no aggressive bite-in period and no unpredictable fade behavior under normal road conditions. This consistent, progressive friction output also allows the 911's sophisticated ABS system to operate at peak efficiency, providing shorter, more controlled stopping distances than a non-linear compound would allow. The pad is quiet, produces minimal vibration, and is gentle on the factory Brembo rear rotors, extending disc service life relative to more aggressive ferro-carbon or race-compound alternatives.

Before ordering, owners must confirm that their 911 is not equipped with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB, option code I450 or M450). This pad is compatible with iron/steel rotors only on most trims listed - the 911 Turbo is the sole model in this application where PCCB-equipped vehicles are also confirmed fitments by Hawk's own catalog. This pad covers the rear axle only; front-axle applications for the same 997-generation models require a separate Hawk part number. Pad thickness is 0.624 in (15.85mm) - always verify against your existing rear pad dimensions before installation.
