Vehicle Fitment

  • 2004-2008 Acura TL Base (UA6, 3.2L J32A3 V6 SOHC, FWD) - Front, w/ Brembo Front Calipers
  • 2004-2006 Acura TL Base Manual Trans (UA6, 3.2L J32A3 V6 SOHC, FWD) - Front, w/ Brembo Front Calipers
  • 2006-2008 Acura TL Type-S (UA7, 3.5L J35A8 V6 SOHC, FWD) - Front, w/ Brembo Front Calipers

Fitment Notes

  • Position: Front axle only for all applications listed above.
  • FMSI Caliper Reference: D1049.
  • Not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors. For use with iron/metal rotors only.
  • This pad fits the Brembo front caliper (FMSI D1049) fitted as standard equipment to the 3rd-generation Acura TL (UA6/UA7, 2004-2008). A small number of 2008 TL Base models were produced without the Brembo front caliper - verify your specific caliper configuration before ordering. Non-Brembo TL front applications require a different pad.
  • The TL Base uses the 3.2L J32A3 V6 across 2004-2008. The TL Type-S uses the larger 3.5L J35A8 V6, introduced for the 2006 model year. Both share the same FMSI D1049 Brembo front caliper.
  • All 3rd-generation Acura TL (UA6/UA7) models are front-wheel drive.
  • OE shims are included with this pad for Type-S applications per Hawk's fitment designation.
  • DTC-60 is a pure motorsport compound not suitable for street use. It requires sustained operating temperatures that cannot be achieved in normal road driving, and its aggressive friction characteristics would create unpredictable cold-braking behavior on public roads.
  • The recommended split-friction setup for track use on this platform is DTC-70 at the front with DTC-60 at the rear, though DTC-60 front / DTC-30 rear is also used on lighter FWD platforms such as the TL.

Features

  • DTC-60 Ferro-Carbon compound - Hawk's high-torque motorsport formulation with less initial bite than DTC-70, engineered for vehicles running at high deceleration rates with or without aerodynamic downforce, and specifically effective in the Brembo front caliper of the Acura TL where maximum race-level braking performance is required without the abruptness of DTC-70's extreme initial engagement.
  • Superior release and torque control at the front axle - The DTC-60's clean, linear release characteristics are a defining advantage on the TL's front-wheel-drive platform, where abrupt front brake engagement can contribute to understeer and wheel hop under trail-braking at track events. The compound's controlled release supports neutral front axle behavior through corner entry.
  • Very low abrasive rotor wear - Despite its high-torque motorsport classification, the DTC-60 produces significantly lower abrasive rotor wear than compounds positioned above it in Hawk's lineup, extending the service life of the TL's front Brembo-clamped iron discs across full race weekends and competitive track day schedules.
  • Wide operating temperature range - 400-1,600°F total range with a 700-1,100°F optimal window, sustaining consistent front brake torque from early in a track session through the maximum sustained temperatures generated by the TL's front Brembo calipers during circuit competition.
  • Excellent modulation and consistent pedal feel - Maintains a stable friction coefficient across the full operating temperature range, delivering repeatable, confidence-inspiring front brake torque that allows precise lap-to-lap braking consistency at competitive events.
  • Popular choice on lightweight-to-medium front axle applications - Hawk specifically recommends DTC-60 for lighter and mid-weight front axle applications, making it a well-matched compound for the front-wheel-drive TL platform where front brake demands are high but downforce-loading is absent.
  • Race-validated across multiple motorsport disciplines - Applicable to Sports Car/GT/GS, pavement circle track, Open Wheel/Formula, NASCAR modified, and endurance racing applications.
  • 100% asbestos, lead, chromium, cadmium, and antimony free - Manufactured in an ISO-certified facility to strict quality and environmental standards.

Product Description

The Hawk HB530G.570 DTC-60 front brake pads fit the FMSI D1049 Brembo front caliper of the 3rd-generation Acura TL (UA6/UA7, 2004-2008), covering the 3.2L J32A3 Base across all years and the 3.5L J35A8 Type-S from its 2006 introduction through 2008. All 3rd-gen Acura TL Base and Type-S models came standard with Brembo front calipers - a distinction that makes the FMSI D1049 pad shape the correct fitment for the vast majority of TL track day and competition builds. A small number of 2008 TL Base models were produced without the Brembo front caliper; confirming the caliper type before ordering is recommended for 2008 Base applications.

Among the available compounds for this pad shape, DTC-60 represents the appropriate choice for TL owners competing at circuit events where the car generates sustained front brake temperatures beyond what HP Plus or Blue 9012 can handle effectively. The compound's 400-1,600°F operating range (optimal: 700-1,100°F) covers the elevated thermal loads produced by hard braking into tight corners on the TL's front Brembo calipers during track use. Its key characteristics - less initial bite than DTC-70, superior release and torque control, and very low rotor wear - are particularly well-suited to the TL's front-wheel-drive layout. On an FWD platform, the front brakes not only handle deceleration but also manage traction and stability during combined braking and cornering forces, making the DTC-60's progressive engagement and clean release more valuable than the extreme initial aggression of DTC-70.

DTC-60 is a track-only compound and must not be used for street driving. Its 400-1,600°F operating range means it cannot reach effective friction output in normal road conditions. This pad is for the front axle only; a separate rear pad is required for a complete race brake upgrade. Compatible with iron and metal rotors only; carbon ceramic brake discs are not supported.
