Vehicle Fitment

  • 2006-2013 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C6, 7.0L LS7 V8, RWD) - Front, w/ J56 6-Piston Front Brake Package
  • 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 427 Limited Edition (C6, 7.0L LS7 V8, RWD) - Front, w/ J56 6-Piston Front Brake Package
  • 2010-2013 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport (C6, 6.2L LS3 V8, RWD) - Front, w/ J56 Heavy-Duty Front Brake Package

Fitment Notes

  • Position: Front axle only for all applications listed above.
  • Not compatible with carbon ceramic rotors. For use with iron/metal rotors only.
  • This is a 1-piece conventional pad design for the C6 Corvette Z06 and Grand Sport J56 6-piston front caliper. It replaces the factory-style segmented padlet system with a single conventional pad per caliper, offering a simpler installation and a broader selection of compounds than the OEM padlet format. The alternative multi-padlet format is the HB531 series (12-piece set, 7 padlets per caliper).
  • The J56 6-piston front caliper is standard on all C6 Z06 models (2006-2013) and available on the C6 Grand Sport (2010-2013) equipped with the J56 option. Standard C6 Corvette (non-Z06, non-Grand Sport J56) uses a different front caliper and requires a different pad - confirm your brake option code before ordering.
  • The C6 ZR1 (2009-2013) uses carbon ceramic rotors as standard equipment, which are incompatible with any Ferro-Carbon brake pad. This pad is not for ZR1 applications.
  • The C6 Z06 uses the 7.0L LS7 naturally aspirated V8 throughout its 2006-2013 production run. The C6 Grand Sport uses the 6.2L LS3 naturally aspirated V8 (2010-2013). Both are rear-wheel drive.
  • Sold as a set of 4 pads (one pair, both front calipers). OE shims and pins are included.
  • DTC-60 is a pure motorsport compound not suitable for street use. It requires sustained operating temperatures that cannot be achieved in normal road driving and would produce unpredictable cold-braking behavior on public roads.

Features

  • DTC-60 Ferro-Carbon compound - Hawk's high-torque motorsport formulation with less initial bite than DTC-70, engineered for vehicles running at high deceleration rates with or without aerodynamic downforce, and well-suited to the C6 Z06 and Grand Sport's J56 6-piston front calipers where excellent modulation and release characteristics are as important as maximum torque at competitive circuit pace.
  • 1-piece conventional pad design - Unlike the OEM segmented padlet format (HB531 series), this 1-piece pad replaces the factory padlet system with a conventional single-piece pad per caliper. This design simplifies installation, eliminates the complexity of the OEM padlet retention system, and makes the full range of DTC-series race compounds available to Z06 and Grand Sport owners who find the padlet format inconvenient for frequent pad changes at track events.
  • Superior release and front torque control - The DTC-60's controlled initial bite and clean release characteristics are a key advantage at corner exit on the Z06's high-powered RWD platform, allowing drivers to apply power earlier without the abrupt front brake engagement that would destabilize the car under trail-braking.
  • Very low abrasive rotor wear - Produces significantly lower front disc wear than compounds positioned above it in Hawk's lineup, extending rotor service life across race weekends and competitive track day schedules without premature replacement of the Z06's large-diameter front iron discs.
  • Wide operating temperature range - 400-1,600°F total range with a 700-1,100°F optimal window, covering the sustained elevated front brake temperatures generated by the Z06's J56 6-piston front calipers during circuit racing and competitive driving events.
  • Excellent modulation and consistent pedal feel - Maintains a stable friction coefficient across the full operating temperature range, delivering repeatable, confidence-inspiring front brake torque for consistent lap-to-lap braking performance at competitive events.
  • Race-validated across multiple motorsport disciplines - Applicable to Sports Car/GT/GS, pavement circle track, NASCAR modified, and endurance racing applications where high front brake torque with controlled initial bite is demanded from the Z06's large 6-piston front calipers.
  • 100% asbestos, lead, chromium, cadmium, and antimony free - Manufactured in an ISO-certified facility to strict quality and environmental standards.

Product Description

The Hawk HB658G.570 DTC-60 front brake pads are engineered for the J56 6-piston fixed front caliper of the C6 Corvette Z06 (2006-2013, including the 2008 427 Limited Edition) and C6 Corvette Grand Sport (2010-2013) equipped with the J56 option. The key distinction from the HB531G series is the pad design: where the HB531 retains the OEM segmented padlet system (7 padlets per caliper, 12-piece set), the HB658 uses a conventional 1-piece pad per caliper (4-piece set for both front calipers). This 1-piece format simplifies installation, eliminates the OEM padlet retention complexity, and provides a convenient format for track day owners who change pads frequently between events.

DTC-60 is the high-torque motorsport compound for Z06 and Grand Sport owners who compete at circuit events and track days where the OEM or street front pads have proven thermally insufficient. Its 400-1,600°F operating range (optimal: 700-1,100°F) covers the sustained heat generated by the Z06's J56 6-piston front calipers during hard circuit braking, while the compound's less aggressive initial bite relative to DTC-70 and its superior modulation and release make it the well-matched front compound for the Z06's high-powered RWD chassis. DTC-60 is a track-only compound and must not be used for street driving.

The C6 ZR1 uses carbon ceramic rotors as standard equipment and is excluded from this fitment. Standard C6 Corvette (non-J56) models require a different front pad. OE shims and pins are included. Compatible with iron and metal rotors only; carbon ceramic brake discs are not supported.
