Vehicle Fitment

Fitment Notes

• Requires a Haltech TCA2 or TCA4 thermocouple amplifier - this thermocouple does not connect directly to the ECU without an amplifier.
• Fitting hardware (weld-in bung, nut, and ferrule) is NOT included. Order separately - common options include Haltech's 1/4" weld-on bung kits.
• The open tip design provides faster thermal response than sheathed probes but is more fragile - avoid direct contact with exhaust headers or other solid surfaces during installation routing.
• Cable length is 1.30M (51") - one step longer than the HT-010865 (1.18M / 46.5"), suited to installations where the TCA amplifier is mounted at the firewall or inside the cabin with a full-length engine bay routing run. Longer variants are available from Haltech for extended routing requirements.

Product Description

The Haltech HT-010866 is a 1/4" open tip K-type thermocouple with a 1.30M (51") cable, designed for exhaust gas temperature (EGT) monitoring and other high-temperature measurement applications on both naturally aspirated and forced induction engines. It extends beyond the HT-010865 (1.18M / 46.5"), providing enough cable for full-length engine bay routing to a firewall-mounted or cabin-installed TCA amplifier without running short. The open tip design delivers rapid thermal response - essential for capturing fast EGT changes during boost transitions and sustained high-load conditions. Operating range is 0°C to 1,100°C (32°F to 2,012°F).

The thermocouple terminates in a mini K-type connector and plugs directly into Haltech's TCA2 or TCA4 thermocouple amplifier, which is required for ECU or data logger integration - the probe does not connect directly to the ECU without an amplifier. Fitting hardware (weld-in bung, nut, ferrule) is sold separately. Haltech offers this thermocouple across a full range of cable lengths - from 0.72M (HT-010861) up through longer variants - to suit any chassis configuration and routing requirement.
