Product Description

The H&R 29527 is a Race Series lowering spring set engineered for the 1998-2005 Volkswagen Golf and Jetta MK4 platform, including 2.0L, 1.8T, TDI, and VR6 engine variants, as well as the 2003 Golf GTI 20th Anniversary Edition. The Race Spring sits above the Sport Spring in H&R's lineup, delivering firmer spring rates and a more aggressive drop -- approximately 2.0 inches in front and 1.75 inches in rear on standard MK4 models. Every spring is manufactured in H&R's ISO 9001 certified facility in Germany from proprietary 54SiCr6 spring steel rated at 290,000 PSI, then shot-peened and powder-coated for maximum durability and corrosion resistance. The progressive rate design provides improved cornering grip, reduced body roll, and a lower center of gravity suited for track days and spirited street driving. Due to the aggressive drop, performance aftermarket shocks or struts valved for lowering springs are strongly recommended, and vehicles equipped with a 42mm or larger driveshaft that are lowered more than 1.4 inches must install an H&R front sway bar to ensure adequate driveshaft clearance. Camber adjustment components such as H&R Triple C bolts are also recommended to correct alignment geometry after installation.
