Product Description

The H&R 50406 is a Sport series progressive lowering spring set for the 1984-1991 BMW E30 platform -- covering the 318i, 325, 325e, 325es, 325i, 325is, and M3. Excluding Cabrio and ix (AWD) variants, these springs lower the 325-series models approximately 1.25 inches front and rear, and the 318i/M3 approximately 1.10 inches front and 0.75 inches rear. The drop reduces fender well gap for a cleaner stance while simultaneously lowering the center of gravity, reducing body roll in cornering without requiring a damper upgrade. H&R's progressive spring rate provides a compliant initial rate that increases under higher load for performance driving.

All H&R springs are produced from 54SiCr6 spring steel at H&R's ISO 9001 certified facility in Germany, with a rated tensile strength of 290,000 psi. This alloy resists set and sag over time, maintaining ride height and spring rate throughout the life of the part. Compatible with factory E30 dampers, though a performance damper upgrade such as Bilstein B8 is recommended for maximum benefit. Wheel alignment is required after installation.
