Vehicle Fitment

  • 2012-2019 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque (LV platform - all body styles excluding Convertible: 3-door coupe, 5-door hatchback - all engine variants including Si4, eD4, TD4, SD4)

Fitment Notes

  • Fits the Range Rover Evoque LV standard body styles (3-door coupe and 5-door hatchback) only - does NOT fit the Range Rover Evoque Convertible/Cabriolet, which uses a different spring specification. The Convertible version uses H&R 28883-2
  • Compatible with OEM factory shock absorbers and aftermarket shock absorbers designed to work with stock-length springs - this is a direct drop-in spring replacement using OEM shock absorbers
  • Lowering amount may vary slightly on vehicles equipped with the optional factory Dynamic suspension package, which lowers the standard ride height by a small amount from the factory; these vehicles will show modestly less lowering than a standard-suspension Evoque
  • Professional installation is required; a 4-wheel alignment is necessary after installation to verify and correct steering geometry, camber, and toe settings to within manufacturer specifications
  • On older or high-mileage Evoque vehicles, H&R recommends inspecting and upgrading the shock absorbers at the same time as the spring installation, as OEM shocks may be worn and unable to properly control the firmer progressive spring rate

Features

  • Lowers approximately 1.2" (30mm) front and rear - reduces the Range Rover Evoque's substantial fender well gap for a cleaner, more purposeful stance while simultaneously lowering the vehicle's center of gravity to reduce body roll and improve handling response
  • Progressive spring rate design - the spring rate increases progressively as the spring compresses, providing softer compliance near the top of the travel range (where most road surface inputs occur on normal roads) and firmer support near the bottom of travel for improved body roll control and stability under load. This characteristic allows the spring to feel comfortable in everyday use while still controlling the body under spirited cornering and hard braking
  • 54SiCr6 spring steel - H&R's proprietary high-performance spring steel alloy, rated at 290,000 psi tensile strength. The silicon-chromium alloy composition (German designation 54SiCr6) provides significantly higher strength, fatigue resistance, and spring-back resiliency than conventional carbon steel springs, preventing the sag and settling over time that reduces ride height and degrades spring rate in lower-quality spring products
  • Shot peened construction - each spring is shot peened after forming, a process that bombards the spring surface with small steel media at high velocity to induce compressive residual stress in the outer surface layer. This dramatically increases the spring's fatigue life under the cyclic loading of normal road use; H&R specifies that shot peening increases spring life by over 200% versus non-peened springs
  • 100% individually tested - every spring is load-tested and inspected at H&R's ISO 9001 certified facility in Germany before shipment. This ensures consistent spring rate, free length, and quality across the entire production run
  • Powder coated finish - applied over the shot-peened surface for corrosion resistance and appearance. The powder coat protects the spring from road salt, moisture, and debris in the wheel well environment, contributing to long-term durability
  • Drop-in installation - the H&R Sport Springs are dimensionally matched to the Evoque's OEM spring dimensions and mount points, allowing installation using the factory shock absorbers and all OEM hardware without modification
  • Reduced aerodynamic drag - the 1.2" reduction in ride height modestly reduces frontal cross-section and air turbulence under the vehicle, which can produce a small improvement in aerodynamic efficiency at highway speeds
  • Engineered, manufactured, and tested 100% in Germany to ISO 9001 quality management standards and TUV certification

Product Description

The H&R 28883-1 Sport Lowering Springs are a direct bolt-in spring upgrade for the 2012-2019 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque LV (standard 3-door and 5-door body styles - not Convertible). As H&R's most popular product line, the Sport Springs are specifically engineered for each vehicle application to deliver the right combination of lowering, spring rate, and free length to work correctly with the factory shock absorbers while improving handling and stance. On the Evoque, the kit lowers the vehicle approximately 1.2" (30mm) front and rear - enough to visibly close the factory fender gap and produce a more purposeful, planted appearance without the extreme drop that would compromise ground clearance, ride quality, or suspension geometry.

The progressive spring rate design is the key to the Sport Spring's combination of ride comfort and handling improvement. In the early part of the suspension stroke - where most normal road surface inputs occur - the spring operates at a relatively soft rate, providing good compliance and isolation from small bumps and road texture. As the spring compresses further under harder cornering, braking, or rough road conditions, the rate increases progressively, limiting body roll and maintaining chassis stability. This progression allows the Sport Spring to feel comfortable and refined for daily driving while genuinely improving the Evoque's handling response under more demanding conditions, without the choppy, harsh behavior of a simple linear-rate high-spring-rate spring.

All H&R Sport Springs are manufactured from 54SiCr6 silicon-chromium spring steel, shot peened after forming for over 200% increased fatigue life, and individually tested before leaving H&R's ISO 9001 certified production facility in Germany. The lifetime warranty covers the springs for as long as the original purchaser owns the vehicle. The matching Convertible application (H&R 28883-2) uses a different spring specification appropriate for the Convertible's reinforced body structure and slightly different suspension geometry; it should not be substituted for this kit. A professional 4-wheel alignment is required after installation to bring steering geometry back within specification.
