Vehicle Fitment

  • 2004-2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (EJ257, 2.5L DOHC Turbo, AWD, Intake AVCS)
  • 2006-2007 Subaru Impreza WRX (EJ255, 2.5L DOHC Turbo, AWD, Intake AVCS)
  • 2008-2014 Subaru Impreza WRX (EJ255, 2.5L DOHC Turbo, AWD, Intake AVCS)
  • 2004-2013 Subaru Forester XT (EJ255, 2.5L DOHC Turbo, AWD, Intake AVCS)
  • 2005-2012 Subaru Legacy GT (EJ255, 2.5L DOHC Turbo, AWD, Intake AVCS)

Fitment Notes

  • Designed exclusively for USDM EJ255 and EJ257 engines with Intake-only AVCS - does NOT fit the Dual AVCS EJ257B found in 2008+ WRX STi; consult GSC's Dual AVCS camshaft lineup (EJ257B platform) for those applications
  • Does NOT fit non-AVCS EJ engines (2004-2005 WRX with EJ20/EJ205, or any EJ engine without the AVCS intake camshaft variable timing system)
  • Head castings may require minor filing for lobe clearance on some applications - check for clearance during installation before final assembly
  • Upgraded valve springs are REQUIRED for safe operation with these camshafts; GSC beehive valve springs are the recommended upgrade but not mandatory
  • Proper break-in procedure and use of high-zinc oil (ZDDP content) is required - refer to GSC break-in guidelines during initial startup and the first oil change interval
  • Long nose = Left Side cam; Short nose = Right Side cam - see product images for correct cam placement identification
  • Intended for built motor applications; GSC recommends a built/ported head and turbocharger capable of supporting 500+ WHP to fully utilize the S2 profile

Features

  • GSC 7000 Series full billet core construction - 100% in-house cut and ground on the newest, most precise CNC grinding machines available, offering the only readily available and affordable billet camshafts for sport compact performance platforms
  • Dark nitride coating provides superior wear and fatigue resistance, improved surface lubricity, and excellent corrosion resistance compared to standard cast camshaft finishes
  • 272° intake and exhaust duration delivers a broad, aggressive power band from 3,500-8,500 RPM, tuned for fast spool-up while maintaining usable bottom-end power - not a full drag racing profile
  • 10.80mm peak intake lift / 10.50mm peak exhaust lift supports 500-750 WHP on properly built EJ platforms with upgraded supporting modifications
  • Centerline at peak lift: 125° intake / 115° exhaust, providing the correct phasing for AVCS intake cam interaction and maximum power output across the RPM range
  • Same proven lobe profile specs as GSC's non-billet S2 camshafts - the 7000 Series billet core raises the bar on dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and long-term durability
  • Compatible with USDM Intake-only AVCS systems - no modification or deletion of the AVCS system required
  • No additional head machining required beyond clearing lobe clearance during installation (minor filing only, if needed)

Specifications

  • Application: Subaru EJ255 / EJ257 (2.5L DOHC Turbocharged, Intake AVCS only)
  • Cam Series: GSC 7000 Series Full Billet Core, Stage 2 (S2) Profile
  • Intake Duration: 272°
  • Exhaust Duration: 272°
  • Intake Duration @ 0.040" Valve Lift: 233°
  • Exhaust Duration @ 0.040" Valve Lift: 233°
  • Peak Intake Lift: 10.80mm
  • Peak Exhaust Lift: 10.50mm
  • Intake Centerline at Peak Lift: 125°
  • Exhaust Centerline at Peak Lift: 115°
  • Power Range: 500-750 WHP (built motor with supporting mods)
  • Power Band: 3,500-8,500 RPM
  • Finish: Dark Nitride Coating
  • Quantity per Set: 2 (1x Intake Cam + 1x Exhaust Cam)
  • Head Machining Required: No (minor lobe clearance check/filing during install may be needed)
  • Upgraded Valve Springs Required: Yes

Included Components

  • 1x GSC 7000 Series Billet S2 Intake Camshaft (Long Nose / Left Side)
  • 1x GSC 7000 Series Billet S2 Exhaust Camshaft (Short Nose / Right Side)

Product Description

The GSC Power Division 7025S2 is a set of two full billet Stage 2 camshafts from the GSC 7000 Series, designed specifically for USDM Subaru EJ255 and EJ257 engines equipped with Intake-only AVCS. This covers the 2004-2007 WRX STi (EJ257), the 2006-2014 WRX (EJ255), the 2004-2013 Forester XT (EJ255), and the 2005-2012 Legacy GT (EJ255). The S2 profile runs 272° duration on both intake and exhaust with 10.80mm intake and 10.50mm exhaust lift - a specification tuned to produce a wide, aggressive power band from 3,500 to 8,500 RPM, with early spool characteristics and no sacrifice of bottom-end power that would otherwise be caused by a more extreme camshaft profile.

The 7000 Series billet core is what separates this camshaft from GSC's cast offerings. Every cam is 100% in-house cut and ground on advanced CNC grinding machines to tighter dimensional tolerances and a more precise lobe profile than cast production methods can achieve. The dark nitride surface coating further improves wear resistance, surface lubricity, and corrosion resistance over the life of the camshaft - characteristics that matter significantly on the EJ platform, which is sensitive to proper oiling and break-in procedures. The lobe profile itself is the same proven S2 spec GSC has refined over years of real-world EJ development, meaning the 7000 Series is a direct upgrade in manufacturing quality without changing the performance profile customers are already familiar with.

The 7025S2 is intended for high-output EJ builds in the 500-750 WHP range running GT35R-class turbos or larger, with a built motor and ported head to fully utilize the cam's capability. Upgraded valve springs are required - GSC beehive springs are recommended. These cams are not suited for stock-spring, stock-head street builds, and they require a proper high-zinc break-in oil for the first oil change interval. They are also strictly for Intake-only AVCS platforms and are not compatible with the Dual AVCS EJ257B found in 2008+ STi applications. For those platforms, see GSC's separate EJ257B Dual AVCS camshaft lineup.
