Where stake-pocket-specific bed rails are engineered to drop into the factory stake pocket holes of a particular truck model, the 8048UB is a universal rail that can be positioned anywhere along the truck bed rail and secured using either stake pocket hardware (no drill) or direct bolt-on mounting (may require drilling). That flexibility makes the 8048UB the preferred choice for trucks equipped with cross-bed toolboxes, headache racks, or other bed accessories that block the stake pocket locations or limit where a vehicle-specific stake pocket rail can be installed.

At 47.5 inches, the 8048UB is sized to run alongside most standard-width cross-bed toolboxes - positioned in the gap between the cab and toolbox, or between the toolbox and the tailgate, to provide a grab rail and tie-down anchor point in sections of the bed that the toolbox leaves exposed.
