Product Description

The GiroDisc CCRK1-032 is a front brake caliper rebuild kit engineered for the OEM Porsche Brembo 4-piston front calipers fitted to the 996 Carrera / Turbo and 997.1 Carrera / Carrera S / 4S / GTS. These calipers use 36mm and 44mm pistons - a larger pairing than the standard 36mm/40mm calipers found on the base 986/987 Boxster and 987 Cayman (which use CCRK1-031). This kit includes all piston seals and dust boots needed to fully restore one caliper to factory operating condition, using components manufactured to GiroDisc's own specifications in silicone for improved heat and chemical resistance.

The Brembo front calipers on 996 and 997.1 Porsche models are susceptible to seal degradation from age and high brake temperatures, resulting in piston sticking, fluid seeping past pressure seals, and reduced pedal consistency. A caliper rebuild with fresh silicone seals and dust boots restores full hydraulic piston travel at a fraction of caliper replacement cost. GiroDisc recommends pairing any caliper rebuild with their titanium pad shields, which serve as a thermal barrier between the brake pad backing plate and the caliper face to significantly reduce heat exposure to the seals and brake fluid during hard use.
