The GiroDisc CCRK2-031 is the rear brake caliper rebuild kit for the Porsche 986 Boxster, 987 Boxster/Cayman, 996 Carrera, and 997.1 Carrera - the companion to the CCRK1-031 front caliper kit, covering the same standard-caliper Porsche platforms. These rear calipers use 28mm and 30mm pistons, and this kit includes all piston seals and dust boots needed to fully restore one rear caliper to factory operating condition. Components are manufactured to GiroDisc's own specifications in silicone for improved heat and chemical resistance.

These Porsche models span a wide age range, and rear caliper seal degradation is a routine maintenance concern on all of them - whether they see track use or not. Hardened or cracked piston seals lead to sticking pistons, uneven rear braking, brake drag, and eventual fluid weeping. A full rebuild of both front and rear calipers is the recommended approach when overhauling the braking system on these cars.
