Vehicle Fitment

  • 2015-2019 Porsche 911 (991.2) Carrera, Carrera S/4S, GTS - rear axle, PCCB-equipped with iron-pad replacement required
  • 2015-2021 Porsche 991 Turbo / Turbo S - rear axle, PCCB-equipped (with iron-pad shape) conversion
  • 2016-2024 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4, 718 Boxster Spyder (982) - rear axle, PCCB original brakes replaced with GiroDisc steel rotors
  • 2020-2024 Porsche 911 (992) Carrera 4S, Carrera S, Carrera GTS - rear axle, PCCB-equipped with iron-pad shape option

Features

  • 2-piece floating rotor design - billet 6061-T6 aluminum hat combined with high-carbon cast-iron rotor ring for strength and weight savings
  • 390 mm slotted & ventilated disc - larger than many OEM rear rotors for increased braking surface and heat dissipation
  • Curved-vane internal ventilation - draws cooling air through the rotor under heavy braking or repeated use to manage heat and reduce fade
  • Floating-mount hardware with high-strength steel drive pins, cap screws, and anti-noise spring washers - allows thermal expansion and self-centering while eliminating cold-start rattle
  • Direct bolt-on replacement - fits existing calipers and hubs, converting PCCB carbon-ceramic rear brake setup to durable steel rotor setup
  • Re-useable hat design - when rotor rings reach wear limit, only the rings need replacement, saving long-term cost
  • Improved unsprung and rotational weight - lighter than many stock PCCB-iron rotors, improving suspension response, braking modulation, and rear-end stability under load
  • Enhanced braking consistency and reliability - suitable for spirited street driving, track exposure, or daily use with PCCB-to-steel conversion

Specifications

  • Part Number: A2-156
  • Rotor Diameter: 390 mm
  • Construction: 2-Piece Floating - 6061-T6 aluminum hat + high-carbon cast-iron disc ring

Included Components

  • 2x Rear brake rotors (left + right), 390 mm, 2-piece slotted/vented floating design
  • Floating-mount hardware set - steel drive pins, spring washers, cap screws/bolts required for installation

Product Description

The GiroDisc A2-156 rear rotor set is developed to replace carbon-ceramic (PCCB) rear brakes on various Porsche 911 (991 & 992) and 718 Cayman/Boxster models with a robust, high-performance steel rotor solution. The 390 mm slotted and ventilated discs provide a large braking surface and enhanced heat dissipation, while the two-piece floating design marries a lightweight aluminum hat to a high-carbon cast-iron disc ring - reducing unsprung and rotational mass, improving suspension responsiveness, braking modulation, and rear-end stability.

Floating-mount hardware with anti-noise washers ensures the rotors can expand under thermal load without rattling or warping, maintaining consistent pad contact and reliable braking. Because the system mounts directly to OEM hubs and calipers and is designed to work with iron-pad shapes, installation is straightforward even when converting from original PCCB carbon-ceramic rotors. Additionally, the rotor rings are rebuildable - rather than replacing the entire rotor assembly, you need only replace the cast-iron rings when they reach wear limits, making long-term maintenance more cost-effective. A2-156 is an excellent solution for Porsche owners desiring increased durability, improved heat management, and consistent braking performance - whether for street driving, track use, or PCCB-to-steel brake conversion.
