Vehicle Fitment

  • 2013-2017 Dodge Viper SRT TA (Time Attack) - Gen 4 (VX chassis)
  • Dodge Viper ACR-X (Gen 4 track-only model)

Fitment Notes

  • Direct bolt-on replacement for OEM front rotors - no modifications required; compatible with factory OEM front calipers
  • Maintains factory brake bias and ABS efficiency
  • Specific to the Gen 4 Viper TA and ACR-X front brake hardware - not the same as the standard Viper (A1-006) or the Gen 5 ACR with CCM brakes (A1-165)
  • Sold as a pair (two front rotors)

Features

  • Two-piece fully floating design separates the 6061-T6 aluminum hat from the cast iron disc ring - prevents thermal warping, reduces pad knockback, and allows the rotor to self-center between the pads
  • GiroDisc proprietary high-carbon cast iron disc rings poured in the USA and machined entirely in-house at GiroDisc - same material specification used by professional racing organizations
  • 48 curved directional vanes act as a centrifugal pump during braking, actively drawing cooling air through the disc to reduce heat buildup and brake fade under sustained track loads
  • 8 or 10 cadmium-plated high-strength alloy steel drive pins secured by Grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers - transfer braking torque while maintaining full float between hat and disc
  • Anti-noise spring washers allow the disc to expand freely under heat while eliminating cold-weather rattle associated with floating rotors
  • Approximately 2 kg lighter per rotor than the OEM unit - reduces unsprung and rotational mass for improved acceleration, steering feel, and suspension response
  • Fully rebuildable - replace only the cast iron disc rings when worn; retain aluminum hats and hardware for multiple service cycles
  • Made in the USA using domestically sourced materials

Product Description

The GiroDisc A1-270 is a two-piece floating front rotor set engineered for the track-focused Gen 4 Dodge Viper variants - specifically the TA (Time Attack) and the track-only ACR-X. As direct bolt-on replacements for the OEM front rotors on these high-performance Viper configurations, they install without modification and work with the factory OEM calipers while maintaining the Viper's factory brake bias and ABS function. The A1-270 is a distinct part from both the standard 2003+ Viper front rotor (A1-006) and the Gen 5 ACR CCM conversion (A1-165), designed to match the specific hat and caliper mounting geometry of the Gen 4 TA and ACR-X.

GiroDisc's two-piece floating architecture replaces the heavy OEM cast iron hat with a lightweight 6061-T6 aluminum unit, connected to the proprietary high-carbon cast iron disc ring through a cadmium-plated drive pin system that allows full axial and radial float. The 48 curved directional vanes inside the disc ring act as a centrifugal pump under braking, pulling cooling air through the rotor to manage temperatures during the sustained high-load stops these track-built Vipers were designed to perform. Approximately 2 kg lighter per corner than OEM, the A1-270 reduces rotational and unsprung mass while delivering the same rebuildability as all GiroDisc products - when the rings wear, only the rings need to be replaced, keeping long-term ownership costs competitive. Sold as a pair; made in the USA.
