Vehicle Fitment

  • 2023+ Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 equipped with the Z07 Carbon Ceramic Brake (CCM) package - Front axle
  • 2024+ Chevrolet Corvette C8 E-Ray equipped with the Z07 Carbon Ceramic Brake (CCM) package - Front axle

Fitment Notes

  • This is a carbon ceramic to iron rotor conversion - for C8 Z06 models equipped with the Z07 CCM package ONLY; it does NOT fit standard iron-rotor C8 Z06 models (use GiroDisc A1-319 for those)
  • These rotors use the factory Z07 front calipers but require a different pad shape - the required pad is FMSI D1405, which is the same pad shape used on the factory-iron Z06 without the Z07 package; existing Z07 CCM pads are NOT compatible
  • Front axle only - sold as a pair (2 rotors); for the matching rear axle set (compatible with all C8 Z06/E-Ray models regardless of CCM or iron), see GiroDisc A2-319
  • A pad annulus (pad swept area) of 66 mm or less is required - pads with a larger annulus than the CCM pads must not be used; this constraint is necessary to keep rotor weight at a practical level
  • Minimum rotor ring thickness: 34 mm - replace rings (D1-320) when worn to this dimension; replace immediately if any crack reaches the edge of the ring
  • Hat is reusable when rings are replaced - only D1-320 replacement rings need to be purchased at service intervals

Features

  • Carbon ceramic to cast iron conversion - provides a cost-effective, track-ready alternative to replacing factory Z07 CCM rotors; uses the factory Z07 front calipers with a different pad shape, requiring no caliper swap or hardware modification
  • High-carbon iron rotor rings machined from GiroDisc's proprietary casting formulated to GiroDisc's specifications - superior metallurgy for improved wear resistance, consistency, and crack resistance versus commodity iron
  • 72 curved internal vanes - developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump pulling cooling air in through the hub and out through the rotor face; the high vane count maximises airflow through the 50 mm wide disc cross-section for aggressive thermal management
  • Two-piece fully floating construction - high-carbon iron rotor ring + black anodized 6061-T6 aircraft-specification aluminum hat assembled with floating drive pin hardware; provides thermal expansion control and rotor self-centering between pads
  • Spring clips and Belleville washers - GiroDisc's race-ready floating hardware eliminates cold-temperature rattle and noise while remaining compliant under thermal load; street-friendly float without loose hardware noise
  • Slotted rotor surface - slots sweep brake dust, gas, and debris from the pad face during braking for consistent bite and resistance to glazing under sustained hard use
  • Black anodized aluminum hat - corrosion-resistant finish; visually distinctive behind the factory Z07 wheels
  • Rebuildable - when rings reach minimum thickness (34 mm), only the D1-320 replacement rings need to be purchased; aluminum hats and all hardware are fully reusable
  • All major components manufactured in-house at GiroDisc's facility in Bellingham, WA from domestically sourced materials

Product Description

The GiroDisc A1-320 is a pair of two-piece floating front iron rotor conversion assemblies designed specifically for the 2023+ Chevrolet Corvette C8 Z06 and 2024+ C8 E-Ray equipped with the Z07 Carbon Ceramic Brake package. This product solves a well-known problem with the Z07 system: factory carbon ceramic rotors are expensive to replace - often prohibitively so for owners who use their cars on track - and are not ideal for repeated thermal cycling under the sustained hard braking conditions of a track day. The A1-320 converts the front brake system from CCM to high-carbon cast iron without requiring a caliper swap, using the factory Z07 front calipers with a different pad shape.

The required pad is FMSI D1405 - the same pad shape used on the factory-iron C8 Z06 without the Z07 package - which is widely available in a range of street and track compounds. The pad annulus (swept area height) must not exceed 66 mm; GiroDisc uses this constraint to keep rotor weight at a practical level rather than manufacturing an unnecessarily heavy disc to match the larger swept area of the OEM CCM pads. The rotor rings themselves are machined from GiroDisc's proprietary high-carbon iron casting, formulated in-house to their own metallurgical specifications and machined at their facility in Bellingham, WA. The 72 curved internal vanes act as a centrifugal pump, pulling cooling air in through the hub and driving it outward through the disc as the rotor spins - providing aggressive thermal management appropriate for the Z06's performance envelope.

The two-piece assembly uses a black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum hat joined to the iron ring via GiroDisc's spring clip and Belleville washer floating hardware system. This hardware is designed to be race-ready for track use while eliminating the cold-temperature rattle and noise that can occur with loosely toleranced floating designs on the street. When the rings wear to the minimum thickness of 34 mm, only the D1-320 replacement rings need to be purchased - the aluminum hats and all hardware are fully reusable, making the long-term running cost of the A1-320 conversion meaningfully lower than repeated CCM rotor replacement. Owners requiring a rear axle set should note that GiroDisc A2-319 fits all C8 Z06 and E-Ray models regardless of whether they came with CCM or standard iron brakes. C8 Z06 owners without the Z07 package should order GiroDisc A1-319 instead.
