Vehicle Fitment

  • 2020+ Toyota GR Yaris (GXPA16, Gen.1 and Gen.2) - Rear axle
  • 2023+ Toyota GR Corolla - Rear axle

Fitment Notes

  • Rear axle only - sold as a pair (2 rotors); for the matching front axle set, see GiroDisc A1-268
  • This is a diameter-upgrade rotor - the GiroDisc A2-268 increases the rear rotor diameter from the factory 295-297 mm to 316 mm; caliper spacers are included and no additional modifications are required for the upgrade to fit
  • Compatible with all GR Yaris variants (Gen.1 GXPA16 and Gen.2) and all GR Corolla variants - the rear brake hub and caliper mounting are shared across powertrain and trim variants
  • Direct bolt-on installation using factory caliper hardware; no modifications beyond using the provided spacers are required
  • Factory rear brake bias and ABS calibration are preserved with the larger rotor
  • Replacement rings: D2-268; aluminum hats and all hardware are fully reusable at ring replacement intervals

Features

  • Diameter upgrade from 295-297 mm OEM to 316 mm - increases the rear braking torque arm and swept area, improving rear brake contribution and reducing front brake loading during heavy stops; helps reduce nose dive under hard braking on track or rally use
  • Two-piece fully floating construction - high-carbon iron rotor ring joined to a black anodized 6061-T6 aircraft-specification aluminum hat; the aluminum hat replaces the heavy cast iron hat section of the OEM single-piece unit, reducing both unsprung and rotational mass per corner
  • High-carbon iron rotor rings machined from GiroDisc's proprietary casting formulated to their own metallurgical specifications - superior wear resistance and thermal consistency versus OEM iron
  • 48 curved internal vanes - act as a centrifugal pump pulling cooling air in through the hub and driving it outward through the disc as the rotor spins; effective thermal management for the rear axle under track and sustained road use
  • Spring clips and Belleville washers - GiroDisc's race-ready floating hardware provides axial and radial float under braking loads while eliminating cold-temperature rattle; street-friendly from day one
  • Rotor self-centering - floating design allows the disc to self-center between pads on release, reducing residual drag and promoting even pad wear
  • Slotted rotor surface - continuously sweeps brake dust, gases, and debris from the pad contact face for consistent bite and resistance to glazing under hard use
  • Black anodized aluminum hat - corrosion-resistant finish for long-term durability in all conditions
  • Approx. 2 kg lighter per rotor than OEM - all weight savings at the unsprung and rotational mass position most sensitive to handling dynamics
  • Rebuildable - when rings wear, only the D2-268 replacement rings need to be purchased; hats and all hardware are fully reusable
  • All major components manufactured in-house at GiroDisc's facility in Bellingham, WA from domestically sourced materials

Product Description

The GiroDisc A2-268 is a pair of two-piece floating slotted rear rotor upgrade assemblies engineered for the 2020+ Toyota GR Yaris and 2023+ Toyota GR Corolla. Unlike most GiroDisc applications that match OEM diameter, the A2-268 increases the rear rotor diameter from the factory 295-297 mm to 316 mm - a meaningful upgrade that extends the braking torque arm at the rear axle, increases the swept area available to the rear pads, and improves the balance between front and rear brake contribution during hard stops. This is particularly relevant for the GR Yaris and GR Corolla, which place the majority of their braking load on the front axle; the larger rear rotor helps reduce nose dive and shift some deceleration force rearward under track and rally driving conditions.

The rotor rings are machined from GiroDisc's proprietary high-carbon iron casting, formulated to their own metallurgical specifications and produced entirely in-house at their Bellingham, WA facility. The 48 curved internal vanes pump cooling air through the disc as the rotor spins, maintaining lower operating temperatures under sustained hard braking. The rings are joined to a black anodized 6061-T6 aluminum hat via GiroDisc's spring clip and Belleville washer floating hardware system, which provides axial and radial float under load while remaining quiet and rattle-free on the street. Each GiroDisc A2-268 assembly weighs approximately 10.4 lbs - roughly 2 kg lighter than the OEM unit - with all of that savings in unsprung and rotational mass at the rear corners.

The A2-268 is sold as a complete rear axle pair and is the companion product to the GiroDisc A1-268 front set. When the cast iron rings eventually wear out, only the D2-268 replacement rings need to be purchased - the aluminum hats and all hardware are fully reusable. All components are manufactured at GiroDisc's Bellingham, WA facility from domestically sourced materials.
