Fitment Notes

Product Description

The GiroDisc D1-282 is the replacement iron rotor ring set for the A1-282 two-piece front rotor assembly fitted to the BMW G80 M3, G82/G83 M4, and G87 M2 (iron brake models). When the cast iron rotor rings on an A1-282 assembly reach their minimum thickness, only the rings need to be replaced - the 6061-T6 aluminum hats are retained and reused. This is the fundamental cost advantage of the GiroDisc two-piece system: the most expensive portion of the assembly (the hats and hardware ecosystem) remains in service indefinitely, while only the consumable cast iron rings are renewed.

The D1-282 rings are machined to the same proprietary high-carbon iron specification and 72-vane curved design as the original A1-282 rings - ensuring that cooling efficiency, braking consistency, and rotor longevity are fully restored with each ring replacement. Each kit includes all new drive pins and mounting hardware along with re-assembly instructions, so the rings can be installed by bolting them onto the existing hats without any additional components.
